thunder_kok says go in summer when everything is open. cool place, but you can do everything in about three days there, and i mean everything. make sure you have dinner in skylon tower.

if you like gentleman's clubs, i recommend "the sundowner"

We went to Niagara Falls on an organised tour, as we were staying in Toronto on a very short break. The tour took us through the wine area, where we got to taste ice wine, beautiful though very expensive. Also through Niagara on the lake. We stopped at the floral clock and the Spanish cable car. The Maid of the Mist, an absolute must. You get absolutely soaked even with the blue cape. Its amazing how close you get to the falls. We had some time to walk around Niagara and visit the shops etc. We also stopped at an air field, where you can fly for about $30.00 right over the falls, onto the American side and get a birds eye view either in a bi-plane, or a helicopter. The tour guide was knowledgable about the whole area and we probably saw more than if we have done it independently. Excellent value for money. We were there in May and the weather was beautiful

I took a self guided tour to Niagra. It was wonderful.. Went in the early fall when it wasnt too hot and got to see both falls close up, took a ride on the Maid of the Mist and visited all the wonderful amenities that are there. we also went to an amusement park that was on the Canadian side and it was almost empty, we rode the roller coasters almost non stop. The circular restuarant was wonderful and the food was very good. . The only draw back was the price. For what they were responsible for, I think it is overpriced and next time I would go on my own..

When i went it was best from the Canadian side. Notmuch else besides the falls which you can do it in a day so I hope you are not travelling a long way just for the falls. If you are still determined to go then you don't need a tour guide, just find a hotel on the internet and hire a car.

we went May 04, spring was just starting. lake louise was thawing ,Sulpher mountain gondola was something else. sun was shining in niagara. we stayed 3 nites niagara & 2 in toronto then flew to calgary.wierd doing a 4 hour internal flight!! then we had 16 nites through the Rockies.fantastic. Niagara falls in the night what a spectacular vision all lit up. amazing to be so close you can actually feel the thundering of the water. if you get chance go to Imax cinema to hear/see the story of the falls. we planning to go back to the rockies next year.

I used to live near there. Make sure you goto the Canadian side. You get a better view of the falls. go at night, too because they have lights on the falls. check out the Maid of the Mist and the Cave of the Winds. there are casinos if you like to gamble on both sides. go in spetember when its not too hot and not too cold. have fun!

I went when I was 10 and there was hardly anything there exept the falls and maybe a hot-dog stand or two... then last year I went and it had exploded into neon arcades and all sorts of craziness... still a spectacular thing to behold, though.

slowly I turn.... step by step... .inch by inch...

sorry I cant refuse a 3 Stooges reference. I would recommend early fall so you can see the leaves changed and it isn't too hot or too cold. It has been years since I was there so I can't really say what packages are available now.

i have been there with my family and by myself. it is an awesome experience you can only feel there. i think i would advise to go in spring or fall so to avoid peak period crowds. definitely worth seeing.
