I was on the patch for 31/2 years. I recently changed to the pill because I couldn't afford the co-pay anymore. Plus, I was getting tired of having that thing on all the time. I'm just wondering if anyone that has taken the patch has gained weight? I'm not sure how much of the weight gain since the birth of my son could have been caused by the patch. I never had this problem when I was on the pill in college. I you did gain weight, did it come off after you got off the patch? Thanks so much :-)

Thanks for all the input so far. Just to be clear..I know that the pill can cause weight gain as well..I just never had that problem when I was on it before. I was just thinking that maybe because you get more of the hormone w/the patch it would cause weight gain to happen easier? Just a thought :-)

I gained on the patch. I'm not sure how much but it was enough to make me notice and be unhappy w/ it. I went off. I lost the weight but that was 1 1/2 year later but I was in a car accident so I cant say exactly how I lost it( going off the patch or the car accident) The pill supposedly makes you gain weight also but check into it.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

I gained a few pounds while on the patch but I stopped using the patch because of the health risks. I think that with what ever fake hormone you put into your body weight gain and weight loss will happen.

I had a serious problem with weight gain associated with hormones in birth control. My gyno suggested an IUD which is just as effective, no hormones, and last for 10 years, YES 10 YEARS. This should be your best bet against hormones and pregnancy.
