That is interesting view however I think a number would disagree. Bush has not made us safer, remember 9/11 happened on his watch. The 911 commission repeatedly asked his cabinet members why nothing was done to stop Bin Laden since Clinton was in office. None had an answer. Most of his people have left including Colin Powell over 9/11 and Iraq.

I correspond and know lots of people in different countries. Most are very concerned and do not like Bush. A number of foreign people are worried about Iran and North Korea and what we will do. The general feeling of the world is that Bush has alienated us from them. Right now certain countries that were allies are teaming to build a coalition against the US. Even president Carter stated that this administration has done things no other presidency has dared to do. It has damaged our standing in many places.

As far as Bush himself, I know people that knew him personally and grew up with him. He is not a smart man. His own people that work for him in white house said he gave blank stares all the time and would have to go ponder things for a long time. It was obvious to them he was not comprehending things well. All you have to do is watch his speeches and his actions and you can tell this guy is not that bright. Look what he did at the G8 conference with the German chancellor and the press conference with her afterwards. That was shameful.

America is a great place you are correct. However when you look at gas prices, Enron, 9/11, Iraq, Dubai, jobs going overseas, and numerous other issues that did not exist before, how can you say it is better and safer?

You can't be serious, can you? Bush made us safer at home? Since when? And in case you haven't been paying attention lately, America is the most hated country in the world at the moment. So what respect are you talking about. As many times as I've been to Italy and Greece, this last deployment was the first and only time we were yelled and screamed at for our countries policy. Not to mention, some of the crew reported being spat on. And people call him stupid because he is. People like you elected a know alchoholic and cocaine user who happens to be married to a woman convicted of shoplifting. Our kids are getting dumber, and what man wants to ammend the constitution to deny a group of people the right to marry....Bush. Come on lady, people like you are the reason people like me are still fighting a war that keeps people like myself in harms way and away from our families. All Clinton did was the same as a few other Presidents have done and got a little nookie on the side and he's bashed. While your good leader Bush has a VP that shoots people on a hunting trip because he was drinking. Yeah, way to set the bar and gain respect.

He did all that? I kinda thought you were safer at home due to the increased security around Crawford, Texas. Ask the people of New Orleans how safe they feel. Respect of the entire world? With an approval rating of around 30% he doesn't even have the respect of Americans and as to why people call him stupid, he makes himself look and sound stupid with his words, his actions and total grasp of reality. His America is more guns, higher fences, pipelines through Wildlife refuges and a growing National debt. If all of that in the greatest nation on Earth, doesn't seem stupid, or at the very least, inept, please share with the rest of us ,what you are smoking.

Are you kidding? How has he made us safer at home? Where is Bin Laden who plotted the 9/11 attack? How has he gained the whole worlds respect when our troops are being killed everyday for the past 4 years? He has started WW3 and he bashes people for being themselves and trying to live a free life. He has started a war for oil and for a personally vendenta. If he was fighting terrorist against America then we would of gone to Afganatsan first not Iraq. Yes Sadam is a horrible person but Bin Landen is our biggest threat and he is still out there recuriting people and plotting.
If you think they are over there fighting for OUR freedom then why do we still homeless, hungry, and sick people in the USA?
You can have your opion just like I can have mine but please think before you state things that are not true.

I voted him for, which was a mistake. I assumed at the time that he was the lesser of two evils. I was wrong. The man is an idiot. He guides his policy by his own agenda and not that of the majority of America (stem-cell research, war in Iraq, etc).

I assume this question is a sarcastic one. I don't think anyone respects us more now. That's a joke. He has tarnished the reputation of America abroad and it will take many years to fix it. A monkey could've made this country safer after 9/11, as the public would've demanded it and anyone against it would've strongly opposed.

1st you must think why your country is not safe. He (or the governement before him) provoked some fellas out there. War started and he is defending your country now. That is why they call it politic.

You want a safe place to leave? Why are guns sold in your country? It is not safe as long weaposn are easily available. In my country, you cannot own a gun and firing a shot will lead to death penalty. Hence we have the least crime rate in the world and we do not even need a leader like your Bush. Our leaders only focus in making our country richer and we are one of the richest country in the world and our development history is less than 50 years. Guess where am I from? Your leader Bush has to learn from ours.

I don't think he has made it safer. And there is no way the world respect the US with a monkey as it's leader. Sorry, Bush has killed thousands of people because of his bad decisions.

In your own mind, you may feel safe. Good for you! I wish I could see the world through rosey colored glasses like you do, that must be wonderful. You should watch the movie Loose Change, that will be a huge wake up call for yourself.

Also, could you please give me specific references on how Bush has "gained respect of the entire world"? That would be fantastic to see where you got that type of information.

Probably because of some of the things he comes out with.
He's an international laughing stock, and he isn't even a fraction as respected as you think.

Where did you hear that Bush gained the respect of the entire world?

Oops, reality check, Jill.

because there STILL made about the 04 elections, they just need to get over it and stand behind America, and they never mention anything good that he's done, people are very close minded thats all, and all the people on here are going to say "cause he's stupid" but they have no fact to back it up with, and 9/11 was NOT his fault you stupid people, Al Gore was warned about Osama Bin Laden in the 90's and told that he should be taken out, but good ole Al thought everyone was overeacting and we know how the rest of the story goes,
I mean OSAMA was telling people during the last election to vote for Kerry?!?!!? what does that tell you?
