You know this poor woman tried to get help after each birth of her children and no one took it too seriously including her doctor and husband. After the last child it got real bad so her husband has his mother drop by once in awhile. Big Whoop!!!! That's not helping her, now they wanted to punish her. I say hang the people who wouldn't help her. I'm very glad she won't rot or die in prison. She is in her own hell and will never get over this, I feel sorry for her.

Well I am not sure about the post-partum disorder but this will allow her to get out of the institution earlier than a sentence in prison....she should then be committed a life term in the institution. Many women have this disorder and dont kill their 5 children. I say keep her in there forever.

I can't understand how any Mother could kill her children, I don't care how depressed she is. I think that part of the blame should be on her ex-husband, he lived with her, left her that morning to go to work and didn't realize anything was wrong? Thats insane!
Was anybody monitoring her medication, just making sure she took them as perscribed??? Now anytime someone kills another human being they will use the "temporarily insane" defense to get out of it.

only an insane mom can do what she did, little question. yet i think of she would desire to be locked up for all times. they are asserting that she will have the flexibility to be evaluated from time to time and in accordance with that effect she ought to finally be released. If it became upto me i wouldn't in any respect, ever launch her despite if she gets cured or her psychological ailment. the youngsters that she drowned wont have a 2d probability, why would desire to she be enable to be healed and stay life returned. i think of they shouldn't spend a dime on her, somewhat keep her locked up until finally organic loss of life. I hate her husband for no longer paying interest to the signs and indicators or psychological ailment and retaining the youngsters, and for no longer taking her, at that factor, to get taken care of. he's yet another as_hole.

It's ridiculous. If she had severe post-partum depression that eventually led to post-partum psychosis, she should've gotten help before she did something terrible...like drown her children. I still think that she should be considered a murderer and sent to prison. Apparently they think it won't take long for her to be released from the institution, and who knows what she'll do THEN?

Post partum depression my ***. I think she killed them out of rage. Geez 5 kids will drive amyone crazy. My her hubby should have helped out more often. Then they would still be alive. I think she should rot in jail. Maybe she was hearing voices I don't know Im not her, But she should definitley be in jail and not out walking the street if she is insane.

I do think she is insane, any person that would take another persons life has got to be...but I don't think she should be spared based upon that. I do believe that the just thing would be to put her to death.

I feel sorry for the kids, and for the father of the children.

I don't feel sorry for Ms. Yates.

This was a very unusual case but she killed. It doesn't matter how many arguments come up. In her case however I feel justice is served.
If you kill 5 of your own kids, you HAVE to be mentally Ill. And seeing how Russ acts, I believe Russ is mentally ill as well.

She's getting treatment and is probably a good source for medical education. She wont ever get better...knowing she killed her kids.

Just because she's been declared insane it doesn't mean that she's not guilty, indeed she's guilty of killing and she's still just as dangerous. How many more have to die before she's put away. I don't think she should be put to death, but she needs to be put away.
