Palpitations are unpleasant sensations of irregular and/or forceful beating of the heart. In some patients with palpitations, no heart disease or abnormal heart rhythms can be found. Reasons for their palpitations are unknown. In others, palpitations result from abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias). Without proper testing, it would be difficult diagnose.
Sometimes heart palpitations can be caused by stress, thyroid problems, menopausal symptoms or heart valve problems.

Palpitations are caused by various things usually when young people get them it is from too much CAFFIENE.

It causes the electrical activity in the heart to go "beserk" and beat more rapidly and/or irregularly. If this is the case and you want to quit then gradually go off it so you "wean" your body. It will give you one heck of a headache otherwise.
