i'm to write a script for kids (girls) ages 6-12 for a Christmas play. can you guys suggest a great Christmas story? not too long please. something that can be done within 30 minutes. kids have short attention span. I was thinking something like "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" and "Little Women" Christmas version. And if possible, can you post a link to the story? or send it to me? thank you so much in advance.

If you're writing for girls, what about the Christmas stories from the American Girl series, or Little House on the Prairie? I think the Little Women idea is great.

One of my favorites is called The Littlest Angel, about an angel who always gets in trouble. I don't remember the author.

You should see if you can find a copy of O. Henry's short story "The Gift of the Magi." It's a beautiful Christmas story. It's the one about the gal with gorgeous long hair who's married to the guy with the beautiful old watch. They're very poor, and don't have enough money to buy each other nice gifts at Christmas. She ends up selling her hair to buy him a watch chain...not knowing that he sold his watch to buy her a set of fine combs for her hair. They both give up their valued "possessions," only to learn that their love for one another was far more valuable.

I suggest you look at picture books. How the Grinch Stole Christmas was good.
