It's a mixture of all three based on the foundation of God's plan for your life. Depending on where you live, society usually sets the standards and gives you the definition for success. In the U.S., it's suppose to be education, hard-work, some of who you are, some of what you know, some of who you know, and definitely where you come from. Success is also relative and its definition can change with different perspectives and the way one weighs success. Success doesn't always equate to having money. One could say they are successful in life if they have a successful marriage or they could deem themselves successful because they are just plain old happy. Bottom line is that it's all a matter of perspective.

firstly,iwant u 2 undastand that every living soul ,has got a deposition of success on the inside its now left for u as an individual 2 recognise it ,when u recognise wot u ve it then u work on achieving wot u want 2 achieve, it does not really come by ur effort neither dos it come by chance cos if wait 4 it 2 come u run of of patcience d truth is 4 u 2 know ur worth success comes by ur constant believe in ur self.knowing the real stuff u are made of.

You mistake luck with success. Success is when your efforts pay off. Luck is pure chance and there minimal effort in that. When something falls on your lap, that's luck. When your business becomes a multimillion business, that's success.

ultimately, we creat success. if you are lazy, you probably won't be very successful in life. however, some chance does come with success--take a look at all of the musical artists, actors, and athletes out there. it took chance for them to be discovered and have success. some worked hard to get where they are, others didn't.
it all depends on fate, i believe.
