I want to take my Grilfriend on a romantic picnic, but I'm having a hard time deciding what to pack. We are going to hike to a waterfall and picnic there. I want something nice, but i need to keep in mind that it will still be kind of hot (we are in South Carolina and the weather calls for 90 degrees).

The traditional picnic fare is fried chicken, potato salad and baked beans. But I like the convenience of finger sandwiches, raw vegetable with a dip, wine and cheese.

Ok with all this in mind there are afew esentials. One a blanket, a small radio for music, small cooler for what ever drink you bring (always take some water). Next your lunch. Make sure you have some ice packs in the backet. I know this will only help keep the food cool..not cold. Avoid a lot of milk based products like potato salad or mayo.

Instead make some nice snadwiches, and use cream cheese it is easier and more flavorful. Try some light pasta salads easy on the oils. Fruit is great, but remember soem of it like watermelon is messy and needs to be cut into small bites. Grapes and strawberry are wonderful. If you feel like cooking do maybe some friend chicken. No I prefer the chicken to be cooked and then chilled, over fresh fried, and cold. Other great otions, Olives, smoked salmon (paste is great for crackers). Deserts are easy. Cheesecake is great or any cake. pies are ussually too messy.

The main thing here is pack good food, don't go cheep. Make it special. Make sure most foods can be eaten with your fingers, it's more fun that way.

Good question; Those small collapsible lunch bags for kids are good for a little while at keeping things cool. Pack it at the last minute throw it in a back pack and go. Fruit, crackers, not saltine's, cheese and ham are nice. Some cold tea or lemonade would be refreshing. You both could carry a little to make the walk up easier. Eat everything and the walk back will be easier. Have fun..Nick

Well pack a blanket. Pack foods that wont spoil. Take a small cooler with ice for your beverage and any thing else that needs to be kept cold. I would pack two pieces of chocalate cake. I love to see my bf eat it so i can lick the icing off of his face. Then a 12 inch sub with out mayo would be cool for you to share and some pringles. Then to drink , you could take some wine or maybe just some juice and dont forget your off. We dont want mosquitoes on ya. And take a citronella candle. have funn.
