We recently went to the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal. My husband & I were visiting family in Elkon, MD and didn't have a fishing license, so we went to the Delaware side. Double check the rules though.

We caught a few small crabs perch, and catfish.

Sounds like you need a road trip. I live just north of you in Lebanon County PA--I have a friend in SC that goes crabbing. It's a day's drive, so just make some reservations, pack up the kids and hop in the car.. PA has many wonderful things to see and do--try to also think of other things to do with them.

Well, Lancaster is not exactly a beach resort.

Try taking a weekend trip to the Chesapeake Bay. It's only a couple of hours from where you are. Great fishing and crabbing.

i'm not sure that this will help you but i believe crabs are only found in salt water, so i would thing your not going to find any salt water where your living. i live in n.j. and have to travel to the seashore to go crabing. chesapeak bay, possibly the delaware bay, but that's near the shore where the water is both fresh and salty. sorry but that's the best i could tell you.

ummm... you can't crab in Lancaster, lol! Were you possibly on the coast when you lived in NY? Do you know that crabs don't live in freshwater? Do you know your geography and where PA is in relation to the ocean?
