I don't love cleaning, but I do like to have a clean house. Sometimes, when life is really hectic and out of my control, it's kind of nice to do something really concrete and make at least one thing *right*.

Don't ask me to come and clean ur house 'cos I too hate it. But I do want a clean house and I hate messy stuff and messy people. If I am too tired to clean I just let it be and quickly finish it as soon as I get over the tired feeling.
Do u know that if u can get help from others in ur chores u don't feel that tired or burdened with the whole thing.
About those persons who are obsessed with cleanliness- They are usually persons who are worried about their health and hygiene or persons who have nothing much to do;they just occupy themselves with housework!

I know that it's weird. Before I do housework, all i can think about is that I HATE it but it has to get done. Then I only do a part of it, just enough that my house looks slightly better. But yesterday, I did everything and now I feel somewhat proud of it, but also worried. That's only because I know that I'll have something else to do tomorrow. I still hate cleaning house, it's a cruel never ending cycle.

It's not that I enjoy housework, I don't like a messy home. There's a reasons my house is always clean. I have O.C.D. (obsessive compulsive disorder). I don't enjoy housework and I'm not weird, it's something I can't control. O.C.D. is different for everyone who has it. So instead of judging people because they clean there home constantly, why don't you find a real problem to complain about!

In many cases this is the result of compulsive behavior that has nothing to do with wanting a clean house.
Compulsive behaviors are rooted in a need to reduce tension caused by inner feelings a person wants to avoid or control.
They end up doing these repetitive acts or house-cleaning rituals simply as a distraction.
These seemingly strange behaviors are repetitive and appear purposeful and are often performed in a ritualistic manner.

i don't think they enjoy housework as much as they enjoy having a house that is clean. some people take pride in their work so when they finish cleaning they are satisfied to see what a good job they have done.

I understand exactly what you are talking about. I like to clean my house and make it look nice, realm at it for a second and then get back to doing other things. There are people out there who are so anal when it comes to house cleaning that they are really clean freaks.....it sickens me! I mean, I have an aunt who is really intent on making sure every fricken nook and cranny clean!
So, yes, I understand what you are talking about!

I enjoy cleaning because it is something I have control over. I might have a hectic day at work, my mom might criticize something I have done, the weather might be crappy, but at least I can sit, relax, and enjoy the nice clean house. Besides, dirty houses make me crazy.
