Ive used cocoa butter because that what people told me to use while I was pregnant. Every time I went in the bathroom, id rub it on my stomach...but actually it didnt work. What I used is a stretch mark cream from Avon..however it most likely wont completely get rid of them, but will fade them alot. Ive been using the stuff from Avon for about 3 months and I can see a difference.

I have stretch marks since I started to grow taller at 12 so suddenly.. thus existed on my thigh and my bum and slightly on my back. They've grown white over the years but it does not bother me when I didn't think much about them. So far, I think gaining weight make them less obvious than being thinner. So far... my body weight didn't rise up so.... can't prove this theory right. Butter is nice but they can leave your skin too oily in the first few minutes and you might feel uncomfortable since it was in the place where you hide underneath the cloth. Exercise is a good way but, if you are too busy with your studies, you might ditch them quickly.

What can you do about stretch marks? First, be patient. Your reddish-purplish marks will eventually fade in color. Whether or not the marks disappear has to do with your skin type; the depth of the stretch marks and your determination to treat them. If you want a barometer of how your body will handle stretch marks, think of how your scars fade. Stretch marks are, in fact, tiny scars, formed when the lower layers of skin tear because they don't stretch as fast as upper layers of skin.
You can check out this page on iVillage.com for really great information on treating stretch marks and making them less visible:

good luck!
