Are they just fueling Islamic propaganda?
For the past few weeks, I have keeping up with the situation between Lebanon and Israel. I believe that Israel does have a right to stand up for itself in a region that is geographically dominated by muslims, but are they really approaching this conflict properly? From what I have read, lots of women and children are being punished over in Lebanon as a result of a governmental conflict. People in Lebanon who hadn't necessary shown any resentment for Israel or the United States are now furious with americans and israelis. When people are in this state of frustration and panic, it becomes very easy to persuade their rationale by means of propaganda.
I have a strong feeling that this conflict will not end anytime soon. There are just too many issues at the present that cannot be worked out by means of negotiations and peace treaties. The only question is, will more countries join the conflict before this situation is over?

All it takes is one more country to join and several others will follow.

I agree with you fully. All Israel is doing now is fueling the hate that Muslims already felt for them ever since Israel was formed. Revenge runs deep in their hearts. Do you blame them? Palestinians were kicked off their land so that Israelis could form their little Jewish state. And now look at the death toll. For about 400 Lebanese civilians killed only 40 or so Israelis have died. There is no comparison. The hate will continue to grow.
Personally, though I have never had anything against them, I don’t know what the Israelis are thinking. They are even killing UN members now.
The only reason the other major Muslim countries have not joined in this squabble against Israel is because they are Sunni countries while Hezbollah is Shia. But if Israel keeps on doing what it is doing, these countries will forget their differences, remember they are all Muslims, and join the fight.
Welcome, World War III.
P.S. I do not support Hezbollah. But I understand why it was formed. You ignorants should look it up.

The Israeli attacks on Lebanon are not so much attacks on Lebanon as they are on Hezbollah inside of Lebanon. Israels goal is to destroy Hezbollah which is just another groups of extremist cowards hiding behind innocent people. Is it necessary? I sure do think so... do you think it was necessary to seek out Al Queda after 9-11? Of course!
I agree that this probalby wont end soon and it could possibly escalate into world war 3 (i pray it doesnt) and things could get really bad. Israel is tired of being pushed around and they simply arent taking it anymore. If the United States gets inolved I think it would only be because Israel is invaded by some other country like Syria or Egypt or even Iran.

How do you negotiate with a society that wants you dead? The Hezbollah don't want money, they don't want fame, they don't want peace, all they want is to finish where Hitler left off. Hezbollah and the president of Iran want genocide and have publicly announced it (I have more faith in the Iranian people, however).
The Neville Chamberlains of the world think they can negotiate in this environment; they are foolhardy. The only way to negotiate with Hezbollah is to attack them until they are convinced they can never win. Once their arrogance is broken, only then can there be any negotiations. Just like the US Civil War; Sherman's March was brutal, but it was necessary and shortened the war. Dropping the A-Bomb on the Japs was necessary to show that we had an overwhelming advantage; the once-supremely proud emporer gave up as a direct result.
You can't approach every conflict with flowers & chocolates. This conflict was brutal, but will the Hezbollah shoot rockets at Israel again any time soon? They might even think twice.

If the Hezberat (sp?--the Iranian group in the south of Lebanon fueding with Israel) would disarm, then there would be peace. If Israel disarmed, it would be destroyed. And with the refugee camps, there will always be someone who feels taken advantage of, so the fighting will not end any time soon.
Not to push the Bible on anyone--but there is a prophecy about another world war leading to a one world government. Yesterday, Condoleeza Rice, the UN, and the European Union released a statement about working together to solve Middle Eastern conflict. Sound like the beginnings of a one world government to anyone?

This conflict will not be over peacefully in our lifetime. Both the Israelis and the Palestinians think they have a god-given right to the land and neither of them is willing to budge on their position or share Jerusalem.
There will be a full-scale war in the near future with the predominantly muslim countries like Iran and Syria leading an offensive against Israel.
Don't get me wrong. Israel is not completely innocent. They treat the Palestinians horribly in their country. They constantly are doing things like cutting off power for weeks at a time and such to Palestinian areas.
Hopefully peace will come...but I don't think we'll see it.

Notice, this is just gonna end-up becoming the third World War that will wipe out all life, before you know it...
I mean, with all the weaponry advances, everyone's gonna die in the result. And since humans are easily offended and such, by nature, they will all partake in this situation and start launching all its weaponry out at the enemies. Thus, we all die. Thus, Earth (if it's still here), will finally be able to recover (after many centuries) and begin life anew.
Anyway, as for your question (put bluntly), I believe that more counties will join in, most defiantly.
But why listen to me? I'm just a 14-year-old girl...

What you fail to realize is that cowards hide behind women and children. Hezbollah and Hamas as well as others use this tactic.
If you're a believer in Christ and his word, the Bible, fear should not be your mindset. Israel is the BIG winner in the end, and those that support evil and terror and false religions are the big losers for eternity.
Don't take it out on me, I didn't write the Bible.

Israel is worsening the situation. Their government is obviously ignorant of how other cultures work (they're not interested in knowing anyway), extremely arrogant, and pig headed
It's all very depressing. I feel sorry for people on both sides of the war who are against it.
And no, I don't support Hezbolla.
