Personally, I think the drinking age limit in the states is silly.

I grew up in a border town in the Ontario, Canada. Every weekend of the summer was the same thing with hundreds of 19 and 20 year old Americans flooding across the border to get drunk in Canada. But that's not why I think it's silly. I think it's silly because you are legally allowed to have sex at 16. You can get married with consent at 16. You can drive at 16. You can vote, get married without consent and enlist in the armed forces at 18. (sorry if the ages I'm giving differ in some States, but you get the idea) You can make all these life changing decisions, but you still can't drink for another 3 years?? Dumb!

And excuse me! Europeans are NOT loose and immoral SpreeBee! Can I ask just how much travelling around Europe you've done to base that analysis on?

John,
You and I, and most everybody else knows, that if you really want to have sex, and drink alcohol, at any age, no one is going to stop you. The laws prohibiting these things, are no more effective than drug laws. Having said that, I think you should carefully reflect on why our society worries about such things. You are undoubtedly young, and feel you are ready for the priveledges of adulthood. I am 53. Don't hang up yet. I have experienced, and seen enough to know, that maybe one out of a hundred people at your age are capable of dealing with the responsibilities of alcohol and sex. Did you know that about 95 percent of the children born in this country are unplanned? Do you have any idea of how an unplanned baby can destroy all of your dreams and ambitions? All it takes is a few drinks, and a little privacy, and you have gone from being the Party King, to being someone's father. I wish I had a dollar, for every young person I have met, who wished they could live their lives over again, and not have sex. I also wish I had a dollar for every life I've seen torn to shreds by one drunk driving accident. It is the number one killer of teens where we live. Slow down. You are only going to be young once. There is lots of booze and sex out there waiting to catch you off guard. Don't rush it.

Catlin, i imagine the concept at the back of crossing the Atlantic at evening is both a) that Europe is closed in the afternoon, or b) pilots can't fly in the course of the Atlantic at the same time as the solar is shining. Realistically, crossing at evening does no longer waste an afternoon in Europe, and considering that that is evening, the passengers will all sleep crossing the sea and awaken waiting for an exhilarating day in Europe. Flights from Toronto, and the west coast-LAX, SFO, SEA are an identical way-sunrise over the Irish Sea. It develop into the Concorde that flew in the course of the day, yet they're lengthy previous. Sorry. Regards, Dan

I believe that we have laws like that because people are so immature when it comes to drinking and sex. I mean there are still people over 21 who drink and drive and killing people. Then sex is not control;led but tried to be contained because children are immature as far as protection diseases and teen pregnancy. I mean what 15 year old can take care of a kid and work and go to school. And with aids out here would you really want your child or a young family memeber getting caught up with that. I mean adults are careless too when it comes to many things that children are banned from.

Europeans have had these things for century's,the drinking age is low because its always been, for century's,i know for a fact that in countries like Poland as long as you dint act like a dumb *** and are social you can drink at young ages, and they realized that kids are going to try sex someday,so they educate them but on the flip side, drunk driving laws are real harsh, some places you can loose your license for years of forever on first time drunk driving offenses.in America theirs all these "moral' groups who want to tell you how to run your life and your children's life, making a big deal out of things tends to give things more attention and a will to do things,
