He could throw his voice to confuse the trolls and keep them guessing until sunrise - turned the trolls to stone
He could wield a sword
He could ride a horse
He could make light with his staff
He could do magic with fire to protect Bilbo and the Dwarves from the goblins and wolves
He could summon the eagles and ride them
