Today I was reading the newspaper and there was a photograph
of a small boy in a political demonstration in Egypt. He couldn't have been more than six. He was sitting on someone's shoulders,
dressed in camouflage, wearing a headband and holding a toy
machine gun over his head. He looked like a perfect little terrorist
in training, right up to the angry look he was giving the photographer
while the picture was being taken.
Obviously he's being indoctrinated at an early age.I can picture that boy in 20 years planting a bomb somewhere. In a part of the
world where some children are taught it's good to hate and kill people because of where they come from,is there any real hope for a lasting peace? How can that be done in a region where such hatred is nurtured in young children right up until they reach adulthood?

I'm appalled by somemany answers being against Islam and giving senseless ideas like wiping all of them of the planet....Which nut writes these answers!! ALL religions preach the same message (cliche.. but i mean it....do an in depth research if you refuse to believe so) and none of them stands for violence...not even Islam. Just because a hand-ful of people take to violence and do inhuman things doesn't mean the whole of thier community falls under the same category!!.. Ask any person of thier religion and they'll say that these terrorist give a bad name to them... What about ALL those Muslims who where along side Mahatma Gandhi and removed the British from India with non-violent means. to qoute a famous afghan-born author Irshad Manji "Allah is perfect...His interpreters are not"
Also, (as scubalady correctly said) the media is always after the mostly emotionally effecting peice of news....For all we know this kid might be the only such person..!! We could just as easy find equally disturbing information in our own community and neighbourhood.. Don't tell me you believe that EVERY SINGLE christian or Bhuddist or Hindu is a perfect , non-violent, human being with all the right morals....
But yes, such ways of life are more in lesser developed areas in the world... I guess the only way to stop this cycle and bring peace is to listen to the wants of all the people of every country, community and religion, try to call a truce between the concerned people and spread education, morals and messages of brotherhood and peace... easier said than done but is there any other solution?By responding with violence aren't you yourself killing the innocent (it starts with blaming them like this!!) and turning into a terrorist yourself!! I just hope all world leaders club in and put a joint effort towards peace and development soon.

Peace

Well.. it's not as if there's no indoctrination going on in the US. Example: what's the point of having young children say the pledge of allegiance in school before they even comprehend the meaning of the word "allegiance"?

Besides, how would you feel if you were in their shoes?

Just to put this in perspective... reporters look for photos that have the highest emotional impact. Their reporters do the same thing. It sells newspapers and evokes an emotional response in the viewers.

Many many years ago I was in germany and next door lived an american military family. Their little boy was around 6 or 7. I was outside and talked a bit with the boy. I asked him how he liked Germany and he said: "We're here because we won the war".
(Never mind that the war had been over 40 years at that time). If you don't call that indoctrination, then I don't know what you'd call it.

So my answer to your question is that hatred and indoctrination is not something that's unique to the middle east. There's plenty of it going around on the homefront.

its the same with these poor kids i see in america going to private schools and taught a bunch of hocus pockus about some GOD the christians have been doped in to beleiving speaks to man.

GOD had two of them in a perfect paridise and then kicked them out .
WHERE we created in his image or for his ammusment i wonder .OR are we part of some grand plan that we know nothing about .
ANY how when we become smart enough to explain why we are here with-out the hocus pokus we will all be better off.
HATE and differances all come from religion and mine is right and yours is wrong . this name calling and feeling of superiority cause you are doing the work of the lord has kiled millions and millions over time and if there were a god keeping track and making some rules i think he would pop in for a visit today and set the rcord straight .
BUT that ain't going to happen cause the simple fact is we are just part of a experiment done by some great force in the universe that has gone astray .
LOOK around and see the size of the univers and tell me you see how anyone who built or caused it creation would even know we are here .
AND to think that we have found this person and he does not dwell among us or stop by on a regular bacis is beyond me and some how i should take it all on faith is even worse then just telling everyone the truth that we just do not know yet and everyone should accept that to cut anothers life short or imprison a free soul is wrong and we must consider our actions at all times to insure we do no harm to others .

Have you seen the pictures of Israeli children writing messages on Israeli missile intended for Lebanon?

The only way to end the bloody cycle is to think about dismantling the Zionsit government. It will probably take another generation or two before the hatred subsides. It's a shame because historically the Muslims have been good friends to the Jews.

Just because you see a kid there doesn't mean that they fall for the indoctrination. The rebellion in their families must be weird. But seeing the images does make it seem hopeless - but isn't that the purpose of that picture, to incite hopelessness. Bah to that I say.

We are as a whole such a tumulteous species, but our knowledge is increasing. With more knowledge comes more individual thinking. We just need to last. We will outgrow this just as we have outgrown a lot of things.

It's really heartbreaking...
I have seen many pictures like that.

It really seems peace is impossilbe, doesn't it ?

It's easy to explain the problem (which is what you described).
It's so hard to acheive the solution.

I would say the only way is to continue to fight the terrrorism at its root and not surrender. At the same time, continue the dialogue with group of decent people from Islamic society.

May God have mercy on all of us, because in the end we are all brothers and sisters in God.

Unfortunately there is nothing to be done.....They live in their world with their beliefs and the children dont have a chance.....

By the time their adults they've already been trained and they cant be swayed any other way because they dont really have any outside influence and of course any outside influence is deemed to be the "enemy" so they wont accept help.......or allow their preconceived judements to be altered......unfortunately they never learn to know better they never have the opportunities to live life happily and freely without the violence and the hatred........

Its very sad but very true........I'll just hold tight to my faith pray for my salvation and hope that one day it gets better although with the way things are going its bleak..........

You have to remove the Cancer, Islam. As much as the Politically Correct idiots hate to believe, Islam is NOT a religion of peace.

Liberals want to appease and reward these people. Think about that one!

Are you sure it was a toy gun? It probably won't take 20 yrs. for him to be killing, or killed. True Peace will only come when the Messiah returns. Hopefully, soon.
