Front side bus. Its the device that allows the interaction between ram and the cpu. In intels the fsb is built into the motherboard. in amd's its built into the chip. The Amd's front side bus runs at the speed of the cpu, allowing greater performance from a slower chip.

Hello,

the Front Side Bus is the data bus (-> interface) on which the processor accesses external RAM (e.g. DDR RAM modules) and other system resources like AGP port. The number of system resources interfacing the FSB's is continously evolving.

Front side bus. Think of it as the equivalent of your download speed on the internet, but instead it is a measurement of speed on your motherboard.
