I'M A CHRISTIAN BUT YES ATHEISTS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED AMERICANS. I KNOW THIS COUNTRY WAS BUILT ON AND BY GOD. I SEE YOUR POINT, BUT THEY ARE STILL AMERICANS. IF THEY CHOOSE TO REJECT CHRIST THAT IS THEIR PROBLEM. ONE DAY WHEN THEY STAND BEFORE HIM AND HAVE TO ANSWER TO HIM, THEY WILL GET THEIRS.

As citizens, yes. why not. the States is a free land (except for terrorists). athiests (except those from the middle east) can become citizens, even becoming American Presidents. how are u sure the present President is not a member. But,funnily,as spenders of the dolars, No! perhaps they should spend credit cards. or pay by checks, at least to avoid their greatest fear- God ('in God we trust'). the argument that the 'God' on the dolar is non-christian, muslim, or etc, is baseless. the atheist does not agree that there is any 'G(g)od', or superhuman being. maybe they should relocate to Nigeria, live in some villages as 'chief otunbas', spending cowries. . . and still be American shitizens!

Surely you jest! Of course they are American citizens. However, I strongly disagree with their attempts to remove God from this country. After all we were founded on Judeo-Christian principals and our leaders have put their trust in God from day one.

They are Americans because they were born here, were naturalized or applied for citizenship but they are going overboard by trying to rewrite the constitution and deprive Christians and Jews of their basic rights imposing their unbelief on the rest of us.

When we openly acknowledged God with no apologies we were blessed and lived in a safer, more secure and more blessed world.

Let me answer you by asking you 3 questions:

1. Do you believe in God?
2. Do you believe God gave us free will?
3. If you take away someones right not to believe in God are you not going against His will?

If you answered yes, do you suppose you might be usurping Gods authority? Satan did that also. That's a serious thing you are considering, you might want to rethink it.

GOD my dear questioner is not the issue it is the one god you believe in thats the issue.
All christian religion is based first on the old testiment and then on the second coming.
none of these books is supported by the readily available written history of the day .THERE was no jesus crucified by pilot no children slaughtered by herod and infact no mention of any miricles commandments or any biblical mumbo jumbo .
I trust in GOD just not the silly murderous one you have wrapped your life around and hold so dear you poor fearfull creature.

I think people in our country should have the right to choose if they are believers or not. Your God tends to agree; he gave people free will. Do you know better than Him?

There are too many problems facing the U.S. right now, the last thing we need is a Christian style taliban. Imagine that.

Lordy lady, do you hear yourself? Have you heard of the Separation of State and Religion? Do you know anything about the history of the Constitution of the United States? What is more important to you, the words stamped on our money , or the words enshrined in the Constitution of The United States?

This is pathetic. If you think anyone should be deported because of what they do or do not believe in, then you have some SERIOUS rethinking, my friend. It's a thing called acceptance, and if you're Christian, you should already know that your God accepts everyone. Nobody should be put into exile that way.

Since 1954.

If atheists aren't American. What is? Only Christian? Why does someone's religion determine their nationality.

Ever heard of Thomas Jefferson...

"But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods or no God. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg."

-Thomas Jefferson, Notes on Virginia, 1782

The reason this country was founded was for freedom...freedom of religion is one of those rights given to us by the constitution. So yes, they are American citizens no matter what they believe.
