I'm driving from Slovenia through Croatia. My final destination is Split, what do you recommend seeing or doing?

If u still didnt rech split then u can visit Pula, with its beautiful amfitheater but the beaches arent anything special there, u made quite a good choice, i went to split only at night to party. But if ur more into nature kinda stuff than id recommend u to take a ferryboat to some island(or smaller boats that take u for a trip for one day, provide u with food, sometimes they stop in the middle of nowhere for ppl to swim a bit), the sea is cleaner as u move away from areas of industry and big beaches. u certainly gotta try our food and i promise u u wont be sorry. dont need to make any big plans, just go with the flow, ppl r nice and social, everyones having fun and i bet ull too.

Bosnia, just kidding.

Not too far from SPLIT is my most favourite beach resort, i can remember from my childhood. It is called TUCEPI.

Have a look at MOSTAR (in Bosnia), not too far from the croatian coast. Just about one hour. A LOT OF HISTORY to find out about. Google: "bridge of mostar"

But if you're already that far, go to Sarajevo/Visoko (3 more hrs drive) and climb the new discovered BOSNIAN PYRAMIDS.

I've just been there and it's amazing.

If you could go further Id say Dubrovnik.
Split is interesting. Try one of the islands for good sandy beach like Brac or Hvar
Its a lovely country, nice people, good food, clean beaches (if mostly pebbly)
I was there at the beginning of June.

If you are driving through, see Plitvice Lakes (UNESCO's World Nature Heritage site). On the coast, cities of Zadar and Sibenik are historically interesting.
