I did rename myself.

I am the third, John Ellworth W..... III About 17 years ago I found out from my sister that my father, John W........ Jr. had molested her when she was a young teen. No, she did not have any proof. I contacted my father, who used John as his first name (just as I had been doing) and told him that I was choosing to believe my sister.

From that time on, I changed my name to my middle name, Ellsworth. I take it to mean Ell (Hebrew word meaning The Light of God) and Worth (literally, worthy): or Worthy of the Light of God. I try my best to be worthy. I have had two life-after-life experiences with The Ineffable Light. I would like to go back there right now. Proabably would involve dying. Guess it is not my time. But I do not fear death.

Anyway, I am Ellsworth. I named myself. No one else in my family uses it. My grandfather, John Elsworth W...... Sr was "Jack", dad who has since passed on was John or Johnny, and I am Ellsworth. No more in that line, I had girls.
