Yea advanced math is used in many real, practical programs - statistics, numerical methods, FFT (fast Fourier transform) are just a few of the basics. Most of the software you use is mundane (word processors, web browsers, etc.). But there are thousands of specialized programs used in every field (financial, medical, geology, aerospace, etc.) that used very complex mathematics. Algorithm design and analyis is a very important knowledge for real programmers. For example, what is the autocomplexity of a binary search?

Yes, depends on what type of project your are going to have to create. Like when working with matricies it definitely helps to know linear algebra. When having to encrypt something within a program it's good to know advanced forms of math. Also doing anytype of AI or algorithm based programs advanced math is an influential part of programming.

I've been a software engineer for 7 years, and I've never needed anything more advanced than trig, algebra, and a bit of knowledge of stereographic and geodesic projections.

However, apparently for some stuff I'm moving onto I'll need calculus and a few other nasty bits of maths, so I guess it depends on what you are doing!

It depends on what you are working on. In web development, what I do, algebra is all I use.

If you go into game development, or especially into military development, you will need at the very least trig. and calculus will probably be helpful.

i don't comprehend in case you talk over with a sofware or to a subjet, If it quite is to a issue, you may desire to to verify first, pay attention the class and do lots issues, all issues of each and every financial ruin of your e book. you may desire to to taje a relax too, because of the fact Math isn't user-friendly... there are suggestions very diffcults.. in case you talk over with a software, you may desire to to take the instruction manual and carry on with it, it does not exist other way.
