I consider myself to be an animal, a mammal. An animal called human. I am a group animal.
I am fysically a very weak animal, and can't even stand right up after my birth. My brains are developed very well, that's my strong point, like a flee can jump extremely high.
My intelligence might be high comparing to other animals, I still react on my hormones and my biological needs.

Humans are animals. We're just the smartest animals. But at the end of the day, we still need to eat, drink, mate and sleep just like they do. We've just came up with cooler ways to do those things.

Because God created it this way. He created the Adam and Eve in his image to rule over the Earth that He created. Then he created the animals for food and company to the humans. If you want the answer to your own question then read the Bible in Genesis.
