I agree, yahoo should make it to where any question directed towards sex or personal topics should require the asker to put their age up or better still, yahoo should put a special section aside for sex related questions and to enter any questions or answers there you must verify that you are of the appropriate age (at least 18 yrs or older)

You could equally argue that for the whole of the Internet but who would police it, or have the resources to police it. By doing so, this service would inevitably have to be charged for.
Besides, what sort of person can't tell how old someone is by the way they talk? Or type for that matter. Just to give you a heads up, I'm 26. Go from there.

True, but there are topics that are not appropiate to talk to complete strangers about. Also, everyone should know that I could say I'm a 6' tall handsome man with a million dollar bank account and looking for my true love and willing to move to Seattle if I'd found it and that I'm full of crap.
It is the parents job not yahoo to teach common sense

I agree with you 100 % !!!
I have wondered the same thing myself. I know that I have seen people as young as 10 years old ( or so they claim ), but how do you know for sure if it is a pedophile ?
I don't know how they could do it, but they need to have one for adults, and one for anyone under 18.

there is no real age verification on most sites. its a real problem. i would say when you ask a question, say for adults only or ask people to tell their ages when they respond. with some people's answers you can just tell.

If you're not comfortable talking about certain subjects to someone when you don't know their age then don't. It's impossible to know who you're talking to, so for example I wouldn't ever answer a question like "Why shouldn't I kill myself?".

If you read the question carefully, you can often guess the person's age, or at least come close.

I agree, especially with some of the stupid and sick questions and obviously confused kids that post here.

I've asked this a few times here. I don't think they can figure out how do it though.
