My husband and I are planning to go on vacation in September or October. We don't want to leave the USA. Califronia or florida it doesn't matter for us. We want to live on the beach so we can swim every day. We don't want crowd beaches. We don't care about night life of the place. But we don't want to go when it's hurricane season or cold ocean. PLEASE help to choose. I don't know much about vacations in the USA and I don't know what is the best place for that. We didn't have our honey moon 2,5 years ago we want to have it now.

First of all I said : I DON"T WANT TO LEAVE THE USA - it means no islands, no cruises, no other countries.
Second: swing every days means - OCEAN.

May I suggest Branson, Missouri? It is between three fair lakes, the fishing is great and there are superb hotels aplenty with excellent pools (I've swam in rivers, lakes, and oceans but prefer pools for cleanliness and safety). There are rental condos as well, some very close to the water.

A couple of names to consider: Chateau on the Lake (marvelous view and top-quality accomodations all around) for the upscale and the Bradford House (pool) or Bradford Inn (superb view of Branson) a very comfortable notch or two lower.

For my wife and I, we also like Eureka Springs, Arkansas (although Branson's Bradford House is first choice), but it isn't near a lot of water. Still, you don't have to be by ocean to swim everyday and for September and early October, the water won't be too bad.

Very good and detailed question. I have a general idea as to what you want but a few minor yet important questions come to mind(I am Owner of a Travel Agency):

1-Do you have a Travel budget in place?(Important as you probably dont want to mortgage your house just for a romantic getaway)
2-How long will your vacation be?
3-What amenities are most important to you?

Minor issues certainly yet important as it will really simplify the process of locating the perfect romantic getaway in either CA or FLA. If you could kindly either call, email me at: indysteve1563@yahoo.com, or reach me through Yahoo Messenger with what you have in mind, we can search the availability of the many possibilities that are out there in both CA and FLA that will satisfy your wants, needs, and budget.

I have always liked the Bilmar Beach resort on the Gulf of Mexico. All their rooms have a kitchennette and you can get a room with a view of the Gulf of Mexico. Like a good 90% of the rooms face the gulf and most of them have balconies. It is by Tampa Florida and not hard to get there. There is a nice golf course (public) not to far and you have St Petersburg and Clearwater not to far away.

Have fun where ever you go.

Take a 2 day, 3 night cruise. Check with your travel agency. They run about $299.00 a person. They go right out of Cape Canaveral Florida.

I have the ideal romantic getaway, especially if you want to stay in the USA.

Martha's Vineyard. It's simply lovely. Stay in Edgartown but travel to Gay Head when you want to enjoy the beach.

Try Destin. You will have to watch for hurricanes though...anywhere on the Gulf and eastern sea shores.
