Lowe's, Home Depot, National Home Center?
Those are some of the stores in our area, but any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks

Home Depot and Lowes often have "no interest/no payments" options on their credit card for any purchase over $299. That gives you the ability to pay it off before the interest kicks in.

HOWEVER, if you think there's any chance you won't be able to pay it off in the alotted time, don't do it. Seriously. The interest on those store cards is outrageous (23-25%) and the interest is retroactive to the purchase date, which can be a real shocker.

If you CAN pay it, I say give it a go. It's like borrowing the store's money for free. I recommend setting up an automatic payment through your bank either weekly or bi-weekly, depending on how you get paid - that's how we paid off our washer/dryer set without paying any interest.

For example (and this works with any bill): If the bill is $1200, and you have 12 months to pay it off with no interest, set up an automatic payment with your bank online/billpay for either $25/week or $50/biweekly on the day you get paid (for a total of $100 or $1200/12 months.) You never see the money, it's in smaller, easier chunks than trying to pay $100 once, and there's a greater likelyhood you'll pay it off with no problems.

Credit card companies DON'T CARE how you pay the bill, as long as you pay. Too many people think they can only send in money when they get a statement, and that's just not true. If you wanted to send them $2.50 a day, you could. Most banks have free online billpay now and will let you set up payments for any date, any schedule, any duration.

I haven't written a paper check in 10 years and I do the same trick on credit-card balances... I send 2 payments a month on payday instead of one; when the credit card interest is compounded daily, you're saving yourself money with the split payment!

Good luck.

Appliance Credit

Buy used. Watch the newspaper. Many people remodel and get new appliances and sell their old ones for next to nothing. If you are having credit problems, this is the best way to go.

I don't think any of those companies have easy financing. You'll probably have to go to a Rent a Center or "rent to own" type place. They take all kinds of credit.

You may have to go to a rent to own which is a lot higher but should help rebuild your credit.
