I think it really depends on the age and/or maturity of the person. Me personally however, I feel that the term "bi" is an excuse for the condoning of promiscuous behavior. I hear a lot more GIRLS say they are bi, than guys do , becuase I think maybe in their own minds, it's a way to justify female promiscuity. Girls are generally brought to believe that if a girl is promiscious, she is a "slut" or a "whore" so by putting a "bi" label on a female that likes sex with both men and women, it's in a way condoning her sexual appetite. The reason I don't really believe in bisexuality, is because a lot of people don't take the term in it's full context. If you ask a gay person why they are gay, it's more than likely, going to go BEYOND a gay person saying "I like to have sex with the same sex as myself" If they are in a committed relationship, they are going to say that they not only are SEXUALLY attacted to the same sex, but EMOTIONALLY attracted as well. That's the problem I see with a lot of bisexuals. They mistake bisexuality for lust rather than a true sexual AND emotional attraction. If bisexuality is a true ORIENTATION, then you have to be attracted to the physical, sexual, and emotional aspects of that person, and I believe that's hard to do equally to both male and female. I believe based on all THREE aspects you're going to have a preference of one over the other. A lot of bi people, if you asked them who they could see themselves married to when they're 70 years old holding hands with the person on their front porch swing, would probably give you an answer of either male or female, not "both" or "it depends", and because they can give you an answer, means they have a preference of what they like. I think too many people, (especially the younger ones today) use the "bi" label and just focus on the sexual part of it. If it's just the sexual behavior you are after, then you are not bi, you are just promiscous.

How long has this person started experimenting with the opposite sex? If the person claims to be bi for years and has proven themself to be affilitated with partners of both sexes I would take their word for it. But for someone just coming out I would take a wait and see attitude. Newly experimenting people will often say they are bi to try and save face. It can be a big struggle for people to admit they are fully gay at first. They might really be bi or they might not. They need time and education to find out for themselves. We are all learning all the time.

I am bisexual as are more than 62 % of the population. I have been bisexual for all my life. I don't feel the need to proove anything and resent being asked to. I am married and have kids. But that doesn't change my desires and needs.

I think people get too hung up on labels. Identify however you feel comfortable for you. I am g0y not gay and bisexual. Choose whatever label you are comfortable with and use it confidently. You need to be comfortable with how the Lord made you and that is all that matters.

Bi is REAL it's not a cop out and some people are really attracted to both sexes equally, or to some degrees either way.

I don't think it's a cop-out. More women tend to be bi than men because women are by nature just more sexually oriented creatures. I like both, personally. Intimate relations with women vary greatly from those with men, so it's nice to have that diversity in my sex life.

A copout? No... just means you are attracted to everyone.

Not at all. It's an orientation like any other. As a bisexual woman, I have solid preferences--I prefer intelligence, dark hair, short people. I just don't have one for that area between the legs.

No it means a person is very sexually oriented. They LOVE everybody. OR they have the ability to love anyone.
