I am always tired or wanting to sleep. I go to work and about 3 I get really tired and when I get home I want to go to bed. It's like I never get enough sleep but I really do. What can I do to have more energy and be able to keep up at work during the day?

Eat heathly foods, exercise. Don't eat right before bed. You'd be surprised what it will do for your evergy level. There are also energy remedies and drinks and things that are good. I would definately research them to see which ones are healthy and that are right for you.

1. Vigorous exercise daily; two times a day, if possible; morning and night. Start with what you can do and gradually increase day by day.

2. Healthy diet. Lose the junk food, soda, refined sugar (in almost everything) and fast food. Eat lots of fresh fruit, vegies, and water.

It takes will power, but if you can do these 2 things for a month you'll feel like a whole new person. Some more tips:

1. Get the support of those living in your house and THROW out the crap food. Don't have it around and don't buy anymore. If the only thing around is fresh fruit and vegies - that is what you'll snack on. Don't take money to work if you are tempted to buy junk and snacks. Take a healthy lunch in a cooler.

2. Brisk walking is great exercise and saves the time commuting back and forth to a gym. Plant a piece of aerobic exercise equipment in front of your TV - and USE IT whenever you watch TV. Find someone to hold you accountable. Set goals and track progress to keep yourself motivated.

3. Read books on diet, exercise and self improvement DAILY. They will help keep you motivated.

(Oh, and see a doctor just in case it is something treatable or serious. Most likely, however, all they will have to offer is the name of a "syndrome" for which there is no known cause or cure and only prescriptions drugs for treatment.)

Maybe it's something more. My sister had this problem and found out that she had a thyroid problem. They put her on medication to fix it and she has more energy now. Also exercising helps keep energy up. Work out in the am and you should have more energy throughout the day. (I am not a morning person at all but I make myself do it and it helps) It will take a while to get the routine but in the long run it will help. Also make sure you are getting enough water and vitamins. Hope this helps

Well I don't know if you take a daily vitamin or not but if you don't try taking some B-12 Vitamins, those are supposed to give you some energy, you must be in need of supplements or something. If not try an energy drink, there is an energy soda called Vault....try that. I have felt the exact same way you are feeling before and It is terrible but try that maybe it will work for you too!

You are probably not getting enough sleep.. If you want to not feel really tired drink some coffee or something that might energize you. it helps me.. i wake up at 5:00 am for school and once in awhile i get a soda to help wake me up since the soda has sugar in it and makes me be alittle hyper which means i am energized... what time do you get up in the morning for work?? It can also be your age too. my mom gets tired around a certain time so when she is off from work and she gets tired she takes a nap usually aroud 1230-2:00 Pm

I was always tired at one time too. I went to my doctor and she ordered some blood tests. It turned out that I had low iron (anemia). I was cold most of the time too. You should get checked by a doctor to rule out any physical problems. Otherwise, make sure you get 6 to 8 hours of sleep per night, eat healthy and try to get some regular exercise.

I have fibromyalgia and I suffer from chronic fatigue. My doctor put me on Provigil. I'm also supposed to do a sleep study to see if I'm getting restless sleep.

Could be a number of things. You should make an appt. with your MD. He will probably check your thyroid first.
