I am working in a local supermarket, filling up washing powders, bleach and cleaning sparys etc.

Do you think I should wear a apron/tabard on top of my blouse, these are an optional extra?

The uniform is limited to 2 blouses and they are really fussy about ordering more.

If you think I should would you suggest a apron or a tabard?

An apron would certainly protect your clothing from leaking bottles. Why not if it's available?

Aprons are helpful in supermarkets, because customers can easily identify the butcher, the baker, the florist, etc. by the prominent distinctive stains.

If you only get two blouses, definitely go for the apron.

I'm not sure what a tabard is, but you should choose the one that they'll let you wear that most closely resembles a hazmat suit.
