Why do some men wear socks with sandals?

Long socks up to the knees are best.
And it's illegal for them to match any other item of clothing.

I asked my other half the same question some time ago. His reply was that he gets blisters on his feet very easily even though he wears safety boots at work. You would think the skin on his feet would have hardened after all the time he has worn safety boots. No! I think he just comfortable wearing socks with his sandals, so who am I to deny him his comfort. I think that may be the case with lots of fellers and a good reason don't you agree ladies?

You can tell a Brit guy on holiday by his ankle socks, but wait I am sure I have seen German men wear ankles socks with their sandals. Anyway who gives a monkeys, live and let live.

You do not seem to get it. Norms are suppose to be informed by benefit for mankind and not necessary something prescribed without the head. If it fails to relate to sense, then why conform with it? I am not fashion crazy but go with what make meaning[s]/
.What is the essence of socks and or stockings? To protect the feet from harm by shoes or whatever we wear. Not necessarily from tightening but also from germs and the host.
So whats the wrong in my wearing a protective shield before putting on any feet wear? What makes it wrong? Sense or simply the dictate of fashion. And who says?
As long as people do what makes sense and meaning and it posses challenge to everyone to think deep on why someone will put on a sandal and still add socks, then we shall be no less a slave to object that cannot speak and we gave it mouth to do that.
If it make sense it all right! Is nt it? God's laws does anyway- even of man cannot explain it.
Fashion is for man and not man for fashion.

Because they are retarded and have no fashion sense. The point of sandals is to let your toes be free...wiggle in the free air, now when you wear socks you totally defeat that purpose.
If you want to wear socks w/sandals then perhaps consider just wearing a pair of shoes. I don't care who you are there is NO WAY that ever looks good. Brad Pitt...hot right? If I saw him wearing socks/sandals he would look as good as a bum.

I know someone who wears socks with sandals.
He does it in the winter to keep his feet warm.
He's from South America, he's not used to wearing shoes, they all hurt his feet, especially his little toes. So he wears sandals most of the time.

It's not fashion or style, it's for comfort.

It shows a rather shallow mind to abuse people when you don't even know why they are doing it. Why should anyone care what people put on their feet, as long as they don't put their feet on your toe.

Now ... explain stiletto heels.

That's a good question. It's probably to prevent their feet from sweating and smelling. But sandals are primarily for comfort, so why not just where regular shoes?

Most men who do this want to keep their feet warm, yet wearing a shoe over would make it extra warm. SO adding a sandle will add no extra layer of warmth. So the temparture for their feet is just right!

My boyfriend does this because his sandals hurt his feet if he dosent. It looks stupid particularly because he seems to believe that matching socks are illegal :-(

Probably for the same reason that some women wear tights/stockings with open toed shoes - because they're just too stupid to see how awful it looks!
