Rabbits do eat a lot of hay. They have to keep food constantly moving through their system, or they can develop GI Stasis, where the gut stops functioning, and can die very quickly. So yes, always keep hay available. Timothy Hay is best, followed by Grass Hay. Avoid Alfalfa Hay, it has way too much calcium in it to be fed regularly. Also, as your bunny gets older, start introducing good leafy greens to her diet. She'll love it :-)

That is very very good. Rabbits can't cough up hairballs like cats can, so they need hay that is high in fiber to get their fur through their digestive tract. Eating a lot of hay is a good thing, just make sure that the rabbit also gets veggies to suppliment vitamins that aren't in the food or hay.

Rabbits will eat hay but they prefer a diet of fresh veg and some rabbit food. They would also use the hay to nest in as it is softer than straw.

I have 2 lionhead dwarf rabbits - hay is good for them and will keep them going if you are away for the weekend - keep fruit n' veg to a minimum : vets recommend the dry pellets you can buy in a pet shop - having said that, ours love biscuits and chocolate drops !
Ideal weight should be around 1.5 kilos

That's very, very good - your bunn is a very healthy bunny if she eats a lot of hay! Hay is an absolute essential for all bunnies. In fact, if rabbits don't have constant hay always available, they can develop digestive disorders. Have a read of this article, it will give you a lot of great info -

Eating lots of hay is normal for rabbits. It's the best way to keep their teeth short. Keep feeding her her normal stuff too, carrotts, and pellets etc...

and don't forget to keep the water bottle topped up too....

you ought to purchase alfalfa hay. My step dad grows alfalfa and Bermuda grass and bales it and sells it to farmers. yet a bale of hay is extraordinarily massive so i do no longer think of it may stay clean sufficient. in line with risk a community rancher or farmer could sell you 1 / 4 or 0.5 a bale.

well, rabbits usually a lot of grassy foods in the wild...they also like alfalfa a lot too if you want to try that. make sure to give a variety includes some fresh vegetables like kale, lettuce, cabbage, carrots, celery. they like fruits like apples and pears and nuts (unsalted varieties)

might also be bored--make sure she has some room to hop around, and see about some toys or hanging treat items..
