No they are not Satanic. Yes, Matt Shadows (the lyricist/vocalist) puts biblical references in their music but that doesn't make them Satanic. I'll put what he said in Alternative Press magazine (during the bands interview) in here.

Song:Beast and the Harlot
from:City of Evil
Biblical Verse: Revelations 18:2
Matt Shadows Says:
"It's the story of the fall of Babylon, this big story that's a metaphor for evil. All the talk about demons, corruption, 10-headed beasts-it's saying don't take the bible literally"

Song:The Wicked end
from:City of Evil
Biblical Verse: Revelations
"That's more about humans creating a belief system, and creating ideas about how the world will end. For thousands of years, different religions have been saying the end is nearly on us. And then the world doesn't end, and you look dumb."
There we're two more from their earlier albums Sounding the Seventh Trumpet, and Waking the Fallen but I didn't feel like typing those in. Avenged Sevenfold is a group on nice down to earth guys who have gotten some fame, and therefore some bad publicity. But trust me they are not Satanic.

No, they're not satanic. There are several bands that can be considered to have more questionable lyrics.
