purse your lips. do not attempt to make a sound but blow through your still pursed lips, keeping your cheeks flat. do not allow your xcheeks to fill with air. this is counterproductive. Practice this, then put your lips to the mouthpiece of the bugle. Just the mouthpiece if it comes out. practice making the very odd noise you will get. then progress to putting the mouth piece into the bugle and practice. getting diff notes on a bugle is all about tightening your facial muscles or relaxing them slightly as you blow. All i can say is you have to sort of think the note for it to "be". Good luck. its not actually that hard to play.

Pucker your lips and make a fart sound. It won't raise the
5th Cavalry but certainly scare the Apache
