It's not like I just listen to AC/dc like everyone else on the planet. I am not like all the other people who just started liking oldies in the past few years. I have liked them my whole life. Most kids who wear the band shirts can't even name one member of AC/DC besides Angus. I listen to pretty much any old artist and it really bothers me that everyone says I am just listening to them because I think it is cool. I genuinely like them and I am probably a bigger fan of them than some adults are.

I'm probably as old as (or even older than) your dad's friends and I say if you like the oldies (my favorites) keep listening and don't even worry about what your dad's friends say. People like what they like and personally I am NOT a big fan of AC/DC. There are a lot of great bands from the 60's and 70's. My favorite is Chicago.

Just blow it off and don't worry about what anyone else says about your musical taste, you like what you like and leave it at that. Listening to music was never meant to be a competition.

By the way the AC / DC song Little Lover --
listen to it and see if it sounds like Bon is singing something else that might be confused with a racial slur LOL

Have a Great Day

I hear you on that one- dont listen to them, actually you should suprise them with your knowlede of the old bands and they might then realize that you actually like it. I am 21 now, but when I was 13, I listened to Metallica, Pink Floyd, Janis Joplin, Jimmy Hendrix and so many others... And my mom used to laugh cuz she thaught it was cute or whatever, but I still listen to all that, and everyone knows I'm a huge fan!! Just keep at it and eventually they will see for themselves...

Angus (lead guitar), Malcolm (rhythm), Phil Rudd (one of their drummers), Mark Evans (one of their bassists), Brian Johnson (current singer) , Bon Scott (old singer).

Okay good I can name them I'm not a poser. Phew. I feel you though, everyone pretty much listens to that kind of stuff now because it's "cool". They did the same thing with Led Zeppelin, unfortunately.

Your dad's friends are just amazed at your level of maturity while their kids are still sucking on their thumbs. Don't be overly affected. Later on in life, you'll realise that there'll be alot more people who'll try to hurt you with their words, leave them be. It takes more courage to forgive and forget than to throw a punch.
