THE POWER COMPANY IS KILLING PEOPLE.

Yesterday they turned off my room-mates power.; So, I went with a freind to cash my check and went to my house. Since they take 12-24 hours to turn on power in the middle of the summer [in MT we could shoot someone for turning off the power in winter because you could freeze to death] I found my room mate sitting in the heat. So, I went out back and tried to pry off this new fancy lock with a pry bar. And it didn't break, so, I smashed the small part of the panel with an old ax. I cannot lie, I cut down your ******* greed machine. So, I pulled off the meter and removed the plastic. Wear gloves, don't touch any metal.
I put it back toegether. Remember to reset your breakers and check your thermopstats, make sure your hvac comes back on.

They do this to people, and they die. What if you were not strong enough to break the lock? I am a strong person and it took all this raqe I have inside me for the innocent killing of humans todo IT

So, you didn't pay for your electricity, and you erroneously think you have a right to free electricity, then you damage property that isn't yours and you steal what you have no right to. Your roommate won't die in the heat - there are plenty of places to go to cool off.

What you did was dangerous, and it's unfortunate you didn't learn your lesson - perhaps you will when the elec company comes out and finds out what you did. You deserve a felony conviction.

They turned the power of because the bill was not paid. If your friend had told you they were behind you could have paid the bill. There is also a rule in Arkansas that utilities cannot cut the services during the winter. Come spring with good weather the services are cut. Your friend could have gone to a public shelter. If your state passes a rule that power cannot be cut during terrible weather the utilities will not cut the power.

Maybe your roommate should pay his/her bill? There is also a program in which people agree to be shut down when power shortages occur. they do this in exchange for lower rates. Your roommate is in for a world of hurt when they find what you did. There is a very big fine and they will shut the power off from the pole at that point. You are a very smart person. NOT!

Having electricity is not a right, it is a privilege that people pay for. That said, if you pay for it you should get it.

Put yourself in the power Co's shoes. You don't have enough, to serve all the people & businesses, and the Gov't won't let you build new Nuclear plants, Coal, Wind, Solar are all innefficient and oil is costly and limited.

What do you do?

Well, two things about this heat, that people don't like to hear.
First, is that the goverment power grid is old....dinosaur old. It wasn't designed to send this much juice around the country...heck, some places are trying to buy out from canada, to get more for the new england states.
Secondly, if they didn't protest all the nuke plants, we'd have energy from those adding to the grid, but then you have the Greens protesting, saying it's unsafe....heck, life is unsafe, that's why you don't walk down the street with cars driving....you'll get hit.
California's bad, South Dakota's bad....we hit 120 in one place, tying our all time high, set 30 years ago....I think we're all roasting, good show in saving your friend....go find a swimming pool, and hop in.

Felt good didn't it.......Thought you were doing a good deed, maybe you think your smarter than the power company?

good for you. Now the fact is you were stupid and you are going to go to jail. You Did NOT save your friends life. The fact that he sweats is his ability to cool off. Next time just pay the bill for him. Wait 24 hrs.

No they are not it is your responsibility to pay you bill. if they shut your electricity off it means you were at least two months behind on your bill. If you were two months behind on your ent you would hav been evicted and you would have blamed the landlord. The moral of the story is there are two of you and you can't pay your bills, i would be looking for a newv roomate.

You should be arrested, fined and jailed for property damage and theft, and required to pay damages to the utility.
