The fact is, it is not hype; the H5N1 bird flu is probably the most dangerous and lethal flu that has been around since the end of World War I. The scientists are working world wide to come up with something that will stop it. Right now, the best results have been found in India. But we need a worldwide ability to win in the war with this disease.

My fear is that a country that has been ravaged by natural disaster, like Indonesia, could be even more susceptible to the disease. I believe efforts should start in Indonesia; then work outward.

It's still out there. I was in Central IL. this weekend and was reading their local paper in the town I was in and it had this big article about the Bird Flu. Supposedly when the birds start to Migrate and head towards the IL. River they are going to possibly bring the bird flu with and they suggested that everyone stock up on crap to last at least 6 mo. as it will spread like poison ivy including a gallon of water for each person and pet, hand sanitizer, antibiotics etc. Tell me that the coporations aren't trying to make a buck out of this.

It doesn't bleed so it doesn't lead.

Notice that we no longer hear about SARS and West Nile Virus. Those were supposedly going to ravage us like the plague. The piddling propagators of panic couldn't scare us into plastic sealed rooms and breathing masks even with 24 hour coverage so now Israel versus Lebanon goes front page. After all, this is just a step from WW3 or WW4 just like the 6 Day War, Sinai, the Yom Kippur War, the 1st invasion of Lebanon and every sneeze from an Israeli soldier on the Golan Heights.

I'm sure that because the hype has died down, hollywood will create some spectacular tv movie about it to get everyone all freaked out [again].

There's a lot of money in fear.

It's still there, it's just that the middle east fighting has overshadowed everything else.

Indonesia has had more cases. and there is evidence that it is mutating but it hasn't mutated towards human danger (yet).

It's coming. and it will be here within 3 years.
