its cool, babe do what you are good at... you must have inherited some natural genes in this area... you might be famous one day for being a wonderful college athlete or even the NFL... go for it and do your best !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can play LB at the HS level....until some 230 lb D1 prospect FB or RB comes running right at you...because you're close in size to a lot of the guys. But when that FB or RB who is being watched by Texas, Miami, Oklahoma, SoCal, or any of the other football factories is lining up on the other side, it would be VERY wise for your coach not to play you. There is a very fine line between courage and stupidity, and it's important to know where that line is for you and your abilities.

In response to papi: I'm telling the girl to be wise. There are a lot of backs in the 190-220 lb range that I'm quite sure she could handle quite well. However, when you see the weight getting close to the 240's with the speed these guys have the impacts are quite severe (or what about a 300 lb OT who has her as his assignment?), she needs to evaluate whether or not she really needs to be in the game. She isn't going to get a scholarship to play LB, and she isn't going to the NFL, she has a life to live beyond football.

And Eric Metcalf was only about 160 when he went to Texas, but it wasn't so much getting hit by him, as it was whether or not you could touch him.

Like I said, if the situation arises that some Chrisitin Okoye type is in his senior year in the back field and there are talent scouts in the stands....it might be wise for her to reconsider that particular night.

In high school our middle linebacker was a girl, and wowee did she hit hard. And yes, some people made fun of her, but just like a duck let it roll off your back, she did, and she had fun playing. We won some, we lost some, but we had a blast because she could play. Some guys were afraid of her, but they weren't worth her time anyway, she was a fox. Don't worry about it, if you are good, and you play with heart and that old Mike Singletary stare, then go out their and knock some teeth out grrrrrlllllll!

p.s. in response to mr manny, our rival school had a "d1" running back that ended up going to Michigan and doing very well, and our girl not only knocked him out of the game(literally) she ended his season. if you have good technique and the desire(heart) it doesn't matter how big or tough the opponent is. our girl was 5'10 and 165 lbs of solid desire and want-to, we could push her around off the field, but when she put the pads and helmet on she was ray nitschke come to life. nobody got past her, nobody.

It would definitely depend on the guy. It is this simple:
1.- Any trait that is not morally negative is great and makes you unique. If a guy doesn´t like it so be it (same if a woman doesn´t like it.)
2.- If there is a particularly nice guy that you like a lot, and you think something in you (like playing football that well) will discourage him from asking you out or something, it´s up to you to show him that or stop playing. But consider that if it is in you it will always show.
3.- "Those who matter don´t mind, and those who mind DON´T MATTER." Keep it up girl.

Just do what youre good at girl, but dont be like needy. Try to fit in and youll be accepted by your teammates in due time. There was a girl on my middle school team. my sister actually. H*** of a Linebacker, and i played safety. could play college or pro if she keeps at it. You can make it too. just keep your head in the game

Girls definitely can play as long as you've got good technique (to overcome any size differential) and there's no hesitation on any play which doesn't seem like you suffer from.

You do what makes you happy! Plus, it's always good to shut people up. ;)

Ever watch the movie "Little Giants"? If not, you should.

Good for you! To take a line from The Water Boy when those guys make fun of you, use it as your tackling fuel. Visualize and attack!

It's certainly not often that a girl plays football, so yeah some people would find it weird. Some people could also find it attractive too, you never know.

Also please take the time to write out full words, it's almost impossible to decipher what you are writing.

Hi,

Only you can answer if it is good or bad. Sounds kinda like you would rather be a girl and have guys like you than to fear you.

Maybe try putting on a dress and act pretty for a change

You're spelling is BAD. That you can play is good. Hey if you can play well then do it. Just please learn to spell better. Sorry but this internet shorthand just looks sloppy. People on here should take the time to write properly and look like they are trying.
