no, I do not agree.

In science, when you test a hypothesis and the results show that the hypothesis is wrong, then you discard it and establish another one or you look elsewhere to explain whatever you're researching.

In religion, you establish a hypothesis and you do NOT test it and you do NOT discard it and you expect people to believe it regardless how illogical or false it is.

This question always puzzles me.

I think we use those terms when we want to for our own purposes.

I don't ever recall reading in the Bible God or Jesus telling anyone to go and start a religion.

But if you want to say religion is believing in something you can't prove, the keyword there is "prove". I believe in God. The fact that my eyes behold the world is proof to me. I am the scientist who asks, "Is there a God?", and my answer is, "I have to believe there is a God because man could not create what I see which is proof of God's existence."

What is science? I think it's understanding.

As someone said it's trial and error to test your hypothesis. By that definition, we are all scientist because we are learning all the time from the baby that learns when it cries it will get a response, to the person at death's door who will soon learn if what they've thought comes after death all their life is true. Science is ascertaining what is acceptable to the scientist or questioner as fact. Don't we all do that every day?

My point is, many people say that science and religion are separate. I think they are one in the same.

Nope. Religion is a matter of faith. Science is about experimentation and proof. In science, nothing is taken on faith.

Science is not a religion as it does not acknowledge God as the supreme being, creator of all.

Yes. It is a faith in something so therefore it would qualify as a religion much like atheism, evolution, etc.
