Quasimodo, the character in the story, "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" was probably based on someone real who had Acromegaly, a deformity that caused them to grow very tall and because of their weight, they became "crumpled over" with bent knees and a curved spine.

FIrst you would have to define "Monster". Some people think George Bush is a monster, others think Dracula is a monster.

In my opinion Quaismodo was not a monster, he may have looked like one, but he had a good heart.
