A ton is 2240 lbs, a tonne is 2205 pounds, so the answer is Feathers.

A lot of answerers have been caught out on this trick question.

Well, a ton is different to a tonne.
One is an American measurement, the other is English, so I would first verify exactly what the hell you mean. I believe that a tonne is heavier than a ton.

The original question was about a ton of feathers or a ton of gold.

Supposedly it was a trick question because of the difference between a troy ounce and a regular ounce. That was a silly question.

But this one is completely meaningless, unless there is supposed to be a difference between a ton and tonne. In which case, you have far too much time on your hands.

The bricks, because a tonne equals 1000 kilos while a ton is near 907 kilos

Well the ton of feathers is heavier as a ton (imperial) is heavier than a tonne(metric) !

A tonne of bricks.

'Ton' is metric, 'tonne' is imperial, the older weight being the larger. If the question is ton v ton or tonne v tonne then they are both identical in weight.

Yes. Good trick but the Tonne is Heavier cause it is a Metric word. that means 1000KG the Ton is a AS word and means 2000lbs as 1000kg is appx 2200 lbs then the Tonne is about 200 lbs heavier

Nice play on words. the tonne of bricks is heavier obviously.
ton = 2000 lbs
tonne = 1000kg
1kg = 2.2lbs(rounded off)
therefore a metric tonne = 2200 lbs
The tonne of bricks is apprximately 200 lbs heavier (I rounded off)

A tonne is 1000kg .It is in metric units.
There are two type of tons.

1. long ton - It weighs 2240lbs
2.short ton - It weighs 1000lbs

Therefor without knowing what ton U r referring I can't give an answer.
1kg = 2.2 lbs
