Practice, practice, practice. First cover up all the letters and work from a diagram on the wall of the letters. When you look at the keys, it slows you down. Type for 5 minutes from a magazine or a book from the library written for typing. Count the words and divide by 5. This is how many words you type a minute. Now type the same thing again, but try to type a bit more in 5 minutes. Then type for ten minutes and count the words and divide by 10. Eventually do 15 minutes and 20 minutes always tryimg to type more words than you did before. Also try to not make mistakes. Practice every day for an hour. My sister types 110 words a minute, but she practiced. The Library has books and programs to improve your typing skills. You always try to get a few more words in and eventually you will succeed. Here is how your fingers are placed-pinky on left on A S D F and right hand pinky on ; L K J and both thumbs go on the space bar. Practice this sentence--ALL GOOD MEN MUST COME TO THE AID OF THE PARTY using all ten fingers. You just have to keep practicing trying to type more words in less time and don't give up!

A few typing classes and lots of practice. On a good day I'm up around 100 wpm. I used to do medical transcription which got my speed up in the first place. And I used to be constantly im'ing with 5-6 people at once which meant I had to be fast.

In college I had a game called typing tutor. It first made you position your fingers properly then type simple letter combinations.

It had different "games" but the focus was always on proper position, speed and accuracy. The games were fun - I got a lot of practice and now am over 60wpm w/ 100% on most days.
In my free time I'll play TyperShark on games.yahoo.com and other typing games of that nature.

Take a typing course in a business school, and practice, because no one gets good with spending a lot of time at it.

Try this program it's called UltraKey. It works really well. Just practice and you'll get better. Also you could try googling typing games or some thing. Here is my favorite one.

yup, practice practice practice. They have free programs where you can test how fast you type, just google "words per minute" or typing test. Also, just type up stuff for no reason for practice, on wordpad or something.

you could start by buying type traning softwhere. it searously works.
but if you cant do that, just practice.
make up your own traning. type the alphabet every day. then when you get better do it without looking. then move on to the other stuff and try typing words, sentences, ect.

good luck :]
