For years it was taboo. Its just one of those things people want to try. if the guy treats them well just go alone with it. dont push the away.

I think white women were always more interested in having relationships with black men - even during slavery. I have heard stories.
I think that's a major reason white men/people hate black men more than black women. And why they were lynched so much.
You will see even more of those relationships in the future. But I predict that whites will find a way to re-introduce segregation as a preventive measure.
BTW: I dated one white man and found that he behaved as any other black man I've dated.
The feeling of superiority that one race feels over another is meaningless and simply racism.

First , I think because it's just more acceptable now. Also it could be a sign of defiance if you have shown displeasure in it. The media has shown them as sex gods but believe me after 20 yrs of marrage to one they are no diferent then other men and the rumors are not true. Maybe you stepdaughters like the attention it brings them. I had no real problems and my childre are beautiful, but an interacial relationship can be very hard sometimes. They need to be sure their with someone they really care about and not because it looks kinda cool.

The thing is is that some girls see a black guy at a tough guy and thats what they want. Nowadays we don't care about mixing races i have a daughter that is half mexican half white. We just care more about attraction then color. Its not that they find them more but if your step-daughters like hip hop or rap its more likely the common interest in that type of music. Hip hop and rap has become more and more popular by the day and it is erasing the line between races.

The white girls I known who dated black guys used to have personality problems or just want to rebel. The black guys I know are really nice too so that maybe a big part of the reason the white girls go for them.
In college I about started dating a black girl and she said her dad and brothers would really disapprove of her with a white guy so it does go both ways.

Well do you live in a community in which black people are more dominate? In today's society there isn't nothing wrong with it. I think bi-racial kids are beautiful. I grew up with very racists parents. Right now I'm with a man that is spanish my mom didn't like it but she got use to it. I think when she found out how he treated me she was ok with it. Just try to think outside the box and let your old fashion ways go a bit. Maybe they will come around. Good Luck!

They are probably getting more attention from these boys. Black boys are more aggressive, and if they are showing attention to the girls, the girls like it. They could be looking for the attention they didnt get from theri 'dad'...I was in the same position, I was the young girl who was getting the attention. My advice to you, (now I am 37) is to keep the communication open w/ them, and dont make them wrong for who they like. When you fight it, they will fight back. They just need to know they are accepted. I dated
many black guys, and some white guys. They will have to figure out what is best for them. My eyes were opened when the guy I was dating was treating "our"son like a tool to get me upset. He is no longer in our lives..... Everyone is different, regarless of skin color... people need to see what is on the inside..cause there are good and bad in all races.. Good luck, and if you want more insight..please feel free to email me... I have been there..and done that : )

I think it it just that this generation does not see color the way ours did. ( Thank God!) You mentioned that you didn't want to seem racist. I thought that was interesting because my black friends (who are mothers) and I have talked about this very issue and they do not approve of black/white dating or marriage at all. For both races I think disapproval or being uncomfortable with this comes from wanting what we are familiar with and from wanting the entire family and society to accept the person our child is with. In all families there will be members that will not be okay with this - just as there will be rude people who will make comments in public or give them a hard time. No one - regardless of race - wants this for their child..

Maybe your step-daughters just like men. what is there to understand? i've learned that black men, white men, asian men, spanish men, and so on and so forth all seem to pretty much play the same games with the only differences being their color. what's the big deal? as long as their not getting involved with abusive guys, what's the problem? you know what year it is...you said yourself that you see a lot of mixed couples...are the chickens roosting too close to home?

I could be wrong, but it seems to be becoming the "in" thing. I have told my daughters that mixing black with white is not what we subscribe to. It's fine for others, but then when they have kids, the kids get picked on mercilessly and it makes their lives very tough. There are also slight differences in upbringing. If anyone who reads this was offended, please don't be. I am not racist, just a separatist. We are all made equal under God and as the Bible says, we are fearfully and wonderfully made.
