Pantera. Pantera was a fusion between the underground and the mainstream. They were not too big like Metallica were you just got burned out on them from too much exposure, but they weren't so underground where no one know about them. Phil has great vocals. Dimebag Darrell Abbott was and is one the most influential guitarists of all time. I met him once he was such a nice guy. I miss him. Rex is a good bassist. Vinnie Paul is such a badass on the drums. Pantera was just brute force, in your face metal. I miss Pantera.

A lot of people have been debating this topic for a number of years. I happen to think that there is only one metal band that is far superior to any of the others. Clearly the best metal band has to be copper. I mean, you can have it all by itself, or add a magnet or two, or three or four. Aluminum-not good, brass-not bad, titanium-maybe, but copper-yes!

Pantera sucks so bad.........there is more to metal than screaming and playing in drop d and doing power chords

There will never be anyone who has such staying power as Metallica, with Iron Maiden coming at a very, very close second.
