I miss it too as I haven't been there this year.
Last time I was there (August 2005) it was just as great as ever (or have YOU been there since?)

Buzzing, vibrant, exciting, colourful, quirky, eccentric, fashionable, intriguing, ever-changing, prosperous, raffish, festive, tolerant, all-embracing, gentrified in certain areas, European feel, artistic, cosmopolitan...and so on.
Try and pay a visit if you can. I have been on four day trips there over the past year, in winter, spring and summer, and it was great on each occasion. Brighton is as it has always been, and is improving all the time.
