My aunt was on a choir trip and their bus broke down in Georgia (i think it was GA...) and Jimmy Carters niece was being Christened at a church like 50 ft. away, so they invited the choir to sing. She said she was suprised by how kind he had been and that he would pose for pictures with the choir. I still love hearing that story.

I met both Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan in 1980. Carter was much shorter than I had imagined him to be. Reagan had this huge, warm personality that just filled the room. Also got to meet Reagan a few more times when I was in college and he came to Ann Arbor (helped to be VP of the College Republicans). He was the most amazingly charismatic man I'd ever met.

Didn't meet Bush I, but I did get the chance to set up a conference on Welfare-to-Work in Chicago about 7 years ago and Clinton came to speak at it. We were introduced when he first arrived. I have to admit that he was a warm person, but little comments he made left me feeling slimy. He seemed to put on and take off masks as different people were around.

I also met Bush II. At first I was prepared to think he was a bumbling dolt, but in reality he reminded me of my best friend's dad. He's not full of pomp and pagentry and really just seemed to be the roll up your shirt sleeves/unbutton your collar/make yourself at home kind of guy. In other circumstances, I think he would be a really nice guy down the street type of person.

Meeting a US president is more about how you feel then what they are like. There is always a sence of awe to see someone so powerful so close. Clinton was the most charismatic but Bush W was the most endearing. Bush Sr was kinda like my grandfather.
I have seen Reagan,Bush, Clinton, Bush W at public/ private speaches and events. I have shaken hands with all but Reagan. I have met both Bush's. (I met Bush Sr well after his term)

CARTER ,REAGAN ,AND BUSH sr. I was dragged along to a few fund raisers and sit down dinners .NO matter who is going to be elected you need to remember that big industries like INSURANCE companies need to be heard .
the millions of jobs provided in the insurance industry makes it second to defense only in america.
MOST people do not realize how big it is till you think about your home car business and all need some kind of insurance required by law .
