1. Well, when I was born Elton John was very popluar. So one song would have to be Candle in the Wind, considering that's the only song of his I like.
2. Then, because of my high school days, there would have to be Smells Like Teen Spirit-Nirvana, and
3. Friends in Low Places-Garth Brooks
4. My wedding song was It's Your Love-Tim McGraw and Faith Hill
5. Baby One More Time-Britney Spears, even though I don't like the song, it WAS number one the year my first child was born, so it's fitting.
6. Hot in Here-Nelly, because it was in the top 10 the year my second child was born, and well, it's a fun song.
7. Redneck Woman-Gretchen Wilson, because it was number one when my last baby was born, and I'm about half redneck.
8. Letters From Home-John Michael Montgomery, because it was popular the year when I found out someone I knew was killed in Iraq. The song still makes me cry to think of him.
9. Bottom of a Bottle-Smile Empty soul, because it still rocks.
10. Time of Your Life-Green Day, becuase it played during the saddest fictional moment I ever saw on TV and also I hope that I've had the time of my life...

Awesome Question, although this will take some brain power to work out. I'll put a song that signifies all the important stages in my life. (Not all of these will neccesarily be songs I like however)
Paul Hardcastle - 19 (Number 1 the day I was born)
Hollies - He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother (Reminds me of my 2 little brothers being born)
Thin Lizzy - Sarah (Used to listen to this with my Dad as a kid)
Badiel & Skinner - Three Lions (Number 1 the summer I got accepted into Grammar School)
Blink 182 - What's My Age Again (The main reason I started a punk band at the age of 14)
Slipknot - Wait and Bleed (My first taste of heavy/nu metal during my GCSE's)
Papa Roach - Last Resort (The song playing in the car during an accident that killed my youngest brother and put me in a wheelchair for 11 months)
Slayer - Raining Blood (Used to do my physio to this song trying to walk again)
Lamb of God - Laid to Rest (First band/song I heard live and was able to mosh to)
Megadeth - Of Mice and Men (Current favourite song brings us back to now)
It's strange how music can bring back such strong emotions and memories
