Its a test. To see how much you can endure and learn. You bring your lessons back with you. And depending on how you do here, will determine your status there and if you come back. You are here to learn. The bonus is what you give of yourself.

"In The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (published in 1979), the characters visit the legendary planet Magrathea, home to the now-collapsed planet building industry, and meet Slartibartfast, a planetary coastline designer who was responsible for the fjords of Norway. Through archival recordings, he relates the story of a race of hyper-intelligent pan-dimensional beings who built a computer named Deep Thought to calculate the answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything. When the answer was revealed as 42, they were forced to build a more powerful computer to work out what the Ultimate Question actually was, but their plans never come to fruition. (Later on, referencing this, Adams would create a puzzle which could be approached in multiple ways, all yielding the answer 42.)"

well the meaning of life..........maybe to become the most succesful life you can live....and also be happy ^^..before you run out of time.My very wise 7th grade teacher said.......life is a deisese (sorry i don't know how to spell that XD).ONce you catch it you can never escape.
do you get it?
like ever since you took the first breath you got a deieses(srry bad spelling once again >_<),life.and you must live it to your fullest by avoiding bad things that will try to take away from life.....and then when your time is up you must go on......

Whether you rely on religion or not there is one desire that every person has. Everyone wants to be unique...everyone wants to make a difference...everyone in one way or another wants to contribute something. Currently...our purpose is to contribute everything we can. Its the only thing that makes sense. As a christian...it's my responsibility to be what God created me to be...if he created me to be a scientist...it's my responsibility to research and develope the ideas he gave me the ability to grasp. if i don't do that than I am not fulfilling my purpose. I know it's cliche, but everyone has a purpose...
