I took this test this morning b/c I've had good luck with it before....meaning the test worked but was negative. Well when I took it this morning (after peeing in a cup), nothing happened. I waited 3 minutes and still nothing. I assumed the test was invalid and starting putting it in the box to throw it away.
As I did that, finally the pee must have run into the windows and there was lines in both. Still I assumed the test was invalid and preceded to take a shower. After getting out of the shower about 15 minutes later, I looked at the test and it was positive!
I know the box says not to look at the test after 10 minutes has passed so I know I need to take another test to be sure, but I am curious about the results. Has anyone had this happen before and it was a positive result? Or do positive results happen a lot after 10 minutes and it means nothing?
I will take a test tomorrow morn to be sure but just curious what you all think. Thanks!

Just wanted to let you all know that I took another test this morning and it was POSITIVE!! : ) I didn't even have to wait 3 minutes...it was more like 3 seconds. Thanks for all of your help!

In the past I took a similar pregnancy test that was invalid as well - there wasn't enough urine apparently and when it did activate the test it was incorrect. I'd just forget that entire experience and try a new one. You may get the same results but having a second test confirm it would make you feel more confident. I know EPT's are more expensive but they do what they say..error proofed!!

Yes, I took the store-brand pregnancy test (2 pack). The first test I took came up invalid (well, so I thought). The second one was positive. About 45 minutes after I took the first test, it looked like the urine was traveling into the windows. Once it got to the end, both lines appeared (positive result). But, I went ahead and bought another test and took it the next day, just to be sure (even though the second test in the box with the invalid test was positive). You definitely want to make sure you get the right result!! Good luck to you, and congratulations if you get another positive test!!

Sometimes a positve test takes a few minutes to show up, especially in very early pregnancy. It is very possible that you had a positive test. I think the Equate brand is good, so I don't think it is a brand problem.

If there are two lines, fuzzy or not, you are most likely pregnant. You used a generic test, thats how they come out, I used the walmart test about 2 years ago and that is how mine came out. If you are still in doubt take an EBT they are easier to read

That happened to me, before I had taken dozen's that were negative and then i took it one day and waited and waited then right before i threw it away I looked at in one more time and there was a very faint line that kept getting darker, now I have a beautiful 5 1/2 month old baby girl!
If you are not sure take another one.

i spent 20 bucks on a pregnancy test, it said NEGATIVE! i spent like 3 dollars on the equate one and it said positive!! i think they work better! you did exactly what i did too. i peed on it, then took a showr and when i came out it looked like the pee had ran all the way to the second window, but it was supposed to. and then soon enough the lines got really really dark.

i have had that happen to me with an e.p.t test and yes i was pregnant....i took it nothing came up and i put it back in the box put it in one of my drawers and when i got home later on that day...i looked at it again and it was positive...i took another one the next day and a positive result came up again...so it is possible and has happened...its also happened to me where nothing has come up with a first responce pregnancy test...so it does happen...if this keeps accuring go to your doctors and get blood work done...its more accurate...good luck
