which team has a better chance of advancing to the quarterfinal the fifa world cup 2010 Mexico or USA?

I love U.S.A but i dont think football is their sport, they should stick to american football.. mexico has a far better chance even going to the semi, they basicly live soccer over there, thats their only sport and seem much more talented

It's too early, indeed, to be asnwering this question. As it stands, Mexico has a far better chance, since Brian McBride left the internationals. However, many things could happen on the Mexican and American side. We have four years left, unfortunatelly. By the time comes, new signings, retirements, and most of all injuries will take place. Mexico like a lot of other European countries do live on soccer, but USA does have it's own soccer league amigos, MLS. Soccer will boom in US even more by the time next WC comes around. US lacks determination and strategy. They have the potential, but without determination/motivation...they will qualify for sure, but won't make it far....again.

Too early to tell; I think both team have enough time and talent to have a great World Cup in South Africa. However, to answer your question as of now I see Mexico having a better team but again the WC is more than 3 years away.

PD: Good placement in the group stage will also determine their performance.

Definitely Mexico. But you all need to stop quitting on your team. That is not what support is. The US has made major advancements over the last few years. You all just expected way too much of them in the recent World Cup and now all I keep hearing is we should just stick to our football. Is that the mark of a competitor?

Mexico seems like the team that can make it to the final and pull an upset.
I also think USA will find it very difficult to even qualify in 2010. Mexico .. Trinidad And Tobago will top the Concacaf and Usa will struggle for 3rd with Jamaica playing Iran to qualify.

Yes, let's all jump on the Mexico bandwagon. No, Mexico will not make it pass the quarter final. This team chokes at every World Cup. Don't bash the US team yet, they have some young talent and will have NO PROBLEM qualifying out of the CONCACAF!

To early to tell will need to see who is playing for each team. Who is in form and what the draw is. Plus they both still have to qualify.

My guess at this point would be USA since Mexico always loses in the second round anyway.

2010 is quite sometime away and for all we know the USA and Mixeco might not even qualify for that tournament.So maybe we should wait for that time.But supposing both teams qualified I would think the US would have a better chance.Why? I think as time goes on the USA would be more motivated to perform better at the World Cup.
