I mean, I understand their concern, since they used to have it and it was forcibly taken from them.

If Israel could do it in the 1940's why can't Al Qaeda do it today?

I find it unreasonable.

Al Qaeda never had Spain; Muslims living centuries ago had Spain. And those Muslims took Spain forcibly themselves. There were people of other faiths in the Spanish peninsula long before Islam took the land by the sword.

Al Qaeda being unreasonable? It would be a surprise if they weren't! Yes its true the Muslims owned Spain, I think it was Fernando and Isabella who finally freed the Iberian peninsula of their control. This is not at all nice of me to say, but as bad as a general epidemic of Bird Flu would be, killing perhaps billions, it would have certain undeniable beneficial effects, and ridding the world of Al Qaeda would certainly be one.

You mean more than the Spanish? Look, Spain has had more than one opportunity throughout history to return to an Islamic-style of government, but they haven't chosen to do so. Why do think that might be? The simple truth of the matter is that the radical Islamics want to take over the world with their brand of rule and they will attempt to gain a foothold wherever they can.

Al-Qaeda are idiots who were once funded and supported by the US. They represent no one really in the Muslim world!

The world need to start really understanding the difference between Resistance forces who try to free their occupied land from criminals who exist in every country but now using a religion as their "cover"!!

I don't remember ever looking at an Al Qaeda position and thinking it was reasonable.

We witness the different Muslim organisations deeply divided over the Islamic - Shariah strategy to the Jihad dilemma... Many of the critical questions Muslims are facing today simply never had to be answered before... Questions like the validity of Jihad - suicide bombings,ect... For the individual, care must be taken to ensure a sound value system, in which that which is good and that which is evil is clearly defined... Surah 8 verse 29: "O u who believe, if u obey and fear ALLAH(SWT), He will grant you furqan (A criterion to judge between right and wrong) and will expiate for you your sins and forgive you; and ALLAH(SWT) is the owner me the Great Bounty."

What does Al-Qaeda got to do with moslems and Spain? How can it be taken from Al-Qaeda? They were not there before!

Lets just be reasonable:

Islam is NOT Al-Qaeda!

Of course it's out of the question...

but Spain proved itself a nation without a backbone. After the Madrid train bombing by Al-Quaeda, they pulled their troops out of Iraq. This is a NATO-member country without a will to defend western civilization. If this is what Spain is all about maybe it would be better off Islamic.

I guess you find this reasonable, too....

al-Qaida now views "all the world as a battlefield open in front of us."

"It is a jihad (holy war) for the sake of God and will last until (our) religion prevails ... from Spain to Iraq," al-Zawahri said. "We will attack everywhere."

He also called for the "downtrodden" throughout the world, not just Muslims, to join the battle against "tyrannical Western civilization and its leader, America."
