The thing is, you can get it pierced, you just have to have parental consent. If your parents don't think it's a good idea, then you shouldn't do it. One of the hardest things in the world to understand is why we have authority. When you're old enough to no longer be in your parents' authority, you think now that means you'll be free, but there's still the government, your boss, etc. If you don't learn now to view authorities as protection rather than something to get around, like getting your ear pierced when they don't want you to, you'll likely fall into harsher authorities as you get older until you learn this lesson. Present the idea logically and rationally to them, reason with them, and be submissive. Good luck.

the other side of the question is , would you allow a 15 YO girl have pierced ears? If you answer yes, then it is also acceptable for a boy to have his ears pierced. It is gender discrimination to say it is ok for a girl but not so for a boy

i don't see why not.
ear piercings are pretty acceptable in men and women and at 15 he is old enough to make that kind of decision. the nice thing is that if he doesn't want it in a few years he can take it out and there is just a little blemish on his ear. if he wanted an eyebrow or lip ring, i think i might make him wait until 18...but an ear...i'd sign the consent.

take care.

I think he should definately be allowed. He is old enough to make a decision on the matter. A piercing is something that can be taken out and the hole will close on its own. If it were a tattoo then that would be different, those are permenant. I think you should let him go for it as long as he pays for it with his own money.

Yes. He's old enough to take care of it, isn't he? I will let my own son get his pierced if he wants it, but he has to be old enough to put the earring in and take care of it after it's pierced (he's five now, so he's not ready). 15 is plenty old enough.

Yeah, your not five so what's the big deal. As long as you do it to the correct ear, then you'll make people get the wrong ideas.
