You need to stop listening to what the conservatives have to say about anything. They would like you to think anything against Bush would be unpatriotic. However we all know that sending those men and women to there death is really unpatriotic.

I don't think it means that we are unpatriotic, people are just so tired and weary seeing so many young troops loose their lives to war!!!Seems like when they lose their lives all the family that's left behind gets is a purple heart and a news clip !!! Well My 18 year old is in the Us army and he will be deployed to Iraq in September. My feelings on this is that I'm so afraid of what can happen nevertheless I have to uphold him He seems to have little fear and just says Mom I have to do what I have to do I knew what it was when I signed the papers!!! But I'm upset because he's just 18 and although hes grown I don't want my son coming back in a brown box and all I get is a purple heart and a flag Id rather see him at home holding a regular job and maybe staring a family in the future Yes Hes protecting Our whole country and that makes Me Proud as a mom !!!! On the other hand the whole country cant guarantee me his safe return and for that reason alone I'm appalled!!! not unpatriotic but really concerned for him and all the troops in Iraq God Bless them all and please end the war soon and let our sons and daughters come home! Amen!

Be wary of bad poll questions.

Where did this crackpot statistic come from? Who would ask this sort of stupid statistical question?

Example:
I want the war over and the troops back home....

So do I answer yes?

Of course I answer yes, even though I think their mission is far from done, and that the decision of WHEN to bring them back belongs to the people of Iraq and military commanders.

So don't believe every statistic you hear says what you think it does. I'm surprised 30% said no. They should have said yes then it would have been an even more obvious attempt to distort the truth and a complete failure.

No, wanting people home is not unpatriotic. Thinking you should be able to decide by yourself, or with your friends what a huge democracy should do, yes, that is unpatriotic. Steaming when you think the government made the wrong decision, now that's normal.

I want our troops back home also, but I don't think that makes me unpatriotic. I support what they are doing, but I'd prefer if they weren't in harms way fighting in what seems as a clash of civilizations.

I feel everyone wants war to end, well at least civilized people. That doesn't make them unpatriotic to their country.

david c is up early today... and obviously his day care providers have not sealed off access to the computer...

david c thinks decisions should be made by popular choices, as Bill Clinton never made a decision before seeing which way popular opinion was headed...

david c - it doesn't surprise me that some moronic poll came up with a number like this - how EXACTLY was the question worded and did it cause people to answer in a certain way...

david c - this is another layer of proof, thank you, about the liberal media and its bias against the administration and anything that the Bush Presidency stands for. It is more proof of what a sheep you are, oh david c possessor of all of those sheepskins which try to show how intelligent you are - that you believe a nonsense poll like that, put out by some media outlet that hates the President and is run by left wing media nitwits...

david c... is this going to be another day of you proving beyond a doubt that the liberals have no agenda of their own to discuss, and can't have any discussion that does not include running down the President and criticizing how good and strong and safe we are as a nation? Ho hum... another day means another day of liberals being sad and bummed out and angry about everything...

because 70% have realised that it was more of an invation than a war. American troops will go home dead or alive but your govenment and the CIA surely have their hands deep in the oil drums. So its NOT UNPATRIOTIC to be against the invation.

No way! People are more patriotic in some aspects if they want the troops home. They are thinking of the American people by this because they want our people to come back home and be safe. It is however going against the President. But when he's not exactly the brightest soul on the planet, it is only natural to go against him. Everyone has their own opinion.

I think Americans are war weary and see no end to the bloodshed. Of course anti-war advocates are not unpatriotic. The cons are speaking out of their asses again. It's an election year so expect that talk to heat up.

I don't know how to show patriotism bettter than to care what happens to my country and my countrymen. Oh, well, I guess I could blindly follow a president who uses false information to lead us into a war so he can flex his muscles. And when he sends Condolizza Rice to Lebanon to give them 30 million dollars of aide, then straight to Isreal to say you keep shooting those missles, I could say good going.

Being patriotic doesn't mean blindly following thie leader. That is what children do. Being patriotic means caring about your country and trying to make it better. I'm looking for the politicians who will make drastic changes at home and away from home.

I don't believe our soldiers should be fighting in Iraq, and when our president starts to spread them out further, I won't believe in that either. I don't blame the soldiers, they do what they have to. And they are dying for their country, leaving behind parents, brothers and sisters, wives, husbands, and children who love them. I blame the administration. If that makes me unpatriotic, so be it.

Not at all, I think that we just want to move on with our lives. I think we all realize we have a lot to battle in our own country and have done a lot to help out our places when we have our own struggles here. I definitely do not think that it means we are unpatriotic, just wanting closure to something that seems like it will never end!

No, 70 % know that the war was a bad idea and are willing to admit that it was wrongful thinking that it would be a quick affair. When W showed up on the battleship declaring mission accomplished it was a slam dunk then that he didn't know what he had gotten the US into. This is turning out to be another long drawn out affair with fewer casualties thankfully.
